Jan Cilliers and Christy Giles were married on August 29, 2019. Recalling their wedding, Jan shared that it took place on a Wednesday night in Deep Playa beneath the art piece called “Broken but Together.”

Unfortunately, the two could only celebrate 2 wedding anniversaries, as Christy tragically passed away in November 2021. Reports mentioned that Christy and friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola’s lifeless bodies were dumped by masked men at two separate hospitals after a night out.

A video obtained by DailyMail.com showed Christy partying with Hilda just hours before she was found dead. The two then left the party and went to an apartment in West LA with some men they met that night.

Also, there were traces of heroin found in her system, which led Christ’s mother to believe that her daughter was sexually assaulted before she was killed.

Likewise, Jan (who was visiting his father in San Francisco when the incident occurred) claimed that his wife would never have willingly taken the drug, and suspected a foul play.

Following her loss, Jan went on to share several IG posts related to his wife. One of them wrote, “The moments we shared will forever be burned into my mind. But that’s not enough. I want more memories with you. I would do anything to make more memories with you. My heart is shattered.”

As of November 2021, the actual cause of Christy’s death was still unknown. Meanwhile, her friend Hilda was fighting for her life in a coma.

Looking back at the posts Christy made about her husband, she once wrote that there were no words that could illustrate how she felt about Jan. “Thank you for all you do, immensely in love with you,” she added.
