News is: CrossFit has fired Games Director and general manager of Sport Dave Castro ahead of the 2022 Season.
On the 4th of January 2022, CrossFit CEO Eric Roza sent out an internal email to her employees Dave will be leaving the business and will be replaced by Justin Bergh. So now, let us tell you all that you have been wondering about the newcomer in the branded fitness business.
Meet Justin Bergh, The New GM Of The CrossFit Games
Just as Eric Roza described, Justin Bergh will now lead the world-class team assembled by Dave Castro at CrossFit Games.
If you were wondering, the new GM is not a stranger to The CrossFit Games. In fact, before this shake-up in the company, he was the General Manager of there, a position he first assumed in 2013 and has been promoted from vice-president of sport and partnership.
On his BIO on the CrossFit Games website, he writes — “I started CrossFit in 2006 and am a proud member of the CrossFit East family.”
Also, Justin has competed in the CrossFit Open every year since 2012.
Justin’s passion for fitness started right from his first workout, which involved kettlebells and he had quickly fallen in love with it, he shared in a 2021 interview with CrossFit Games Analysts Sean Woodland and Tommy Marquez,
And now while CrossFit is excited to see the new generation of leadership bring about their Sport to the next level of success, Dave, who just left, did not seem happy about the firing, as he made it pretty clear on social media that his leaving CrossFit was not a mutual decision.
