Meet Danny Strong, Allison Feaster Husband
Danny Strong and Allison Feaster met each other in high school and soon they started dating each other. They likely hit it off because of their shared love for basketball. It is unclear when they tied the knots but it was more than 16 years before. They share a daughter together.
“I had just finished a season in France,” Allison said. “We just won the French title. And, as [was] customary, I would get on a plane the next day or two after the last game and report to my WNBA team. And when you arrive in your WNBA city — which was Charlotte at the time — you have to go have a physical And in my physical, the doctor confirmed that I was a few weeks pregnant.”
“I was ecstatic. We were ecstatic, but at the same time, you have to really consider the professional ramifications of being pregnant: How am I going to manage this pregnancy? Continue to play? For how long? Where will I give birth? Which continent? I would have to stop playing in Europe for a season. That was my livelihood. So it was a mixture of excitement coupled with uncertainty,” Allison added. “The doctors immediately said, ‘You know, you can continue with your lifestyle that you maintained before the pregnancy.’ And I really took that and ran with it.”
She thus participated in the WNBA for practically the entire season, starting every game up until she became pregnant at four months. Feaster didn’t think about going on maternity leave until she started reducing her compression shorts to fit.
In her Harvard Varsity Club bio, she said, “There are no words to describe the important role that my husband and partner Danny Strong has played throughout these past 20 years. He challenges me to be the best that I can be. He and our daughter Sarah, as well as my parents Sandra and Reginald Booker, are my foundation, and I give thanks to them every day.”
Allison Feaster’s daughter Sarah Aleece Strong was born on 3 February 2006. Sarah was born in a suburb of Madrid, where her husband Danny was playing professional basketball. Allison also shared that when she and her husband had to be apart because of their career, they had an agreement that their daughter Sarah would stay with her.
Allison explained, “My husband is pretty practical and he understands the role that a mother plays in a young child’s life, especially, and it was just an unspoken: she’ll stay with me when we have to be apart.”
“It got more complicated once Sarah began to grow a bit older,” Allison said who was in her mid-30s and her playing career was almost over. For Allison, her time was not only playing basketball for also education which she wanted to bestow on her daughter. “Obviously Europe is multicultural. It made sense to me. I wanted to give her that life. I wanted to give her that experience,” Feaster says.
While raising her daughter, Allison played for 10 seasons. Sarah, her daughter, spent almost a decade in Spain so Sarah is Spaniard at her heart. According to Allison her daughter who is bilingual often chides her for not speaking with the lisp when Allison say the letters ‘c’ and ‘z’ in Spanish words.
On 3 February 2022, Allison wished her daughter, “Mi Vida. Ma lumière. 👸🏾🌟❤️ Happy 16th.” Sarah holds dual citizenship in France and the United States. She is a rising star at Grace Academy in Sanford and has climbed to the #5 overall player on ESPN’s class of 2024 basketball rankings.
The rising junior was recently selected to Team USA’s U18 Women’s National 3 on 3 teams, which competed in the World Cup in Hungary later in August.

Danny Strong was a standout at Great Falls (S.C.) High in both football and basketball. He attended Lake City (Fla.) Community College and Spartanburg (S.C.) Methodist College before transferring to NC State in 1995.
The then 6-6, 227-pounder had the unique perspective of playing on coach Les Robinson’s last team and coach Herb Sendek’s first team. Danny averaged 12.5 points and 4.9 rebounds and started all 63 games from 1995-97. He earned his degree in Sociology at NC State.
Danny shot 38.8 percent on three-pointers, bombing away for 134 of 345 during his two-year NC State stint. He then played professionally overseas until 2012.
He retired from playing in 2011 and moved back to the U.S. and started a new career as a high school coach. Danny is a former NCSU and professional basketball player from Great Falls, SC. Coach Strong played for the NCSU Wolfpack until 1997 before playing professionally in the European basketball leagues.
Danny retired from professional play in May 2012 after playing for 15 years. During his professional career, he made four all-star appearances in the French National Basketball League, lead his team to victory in the 2005 French Cup Championship, was the all-star MVP in the Portuguese National Basketball League, and served 9 years as team captain for various teams.
