Mason Mayham Abraham is one of the inmate castmates appearing on Netflix’s Unlocked: A Jail Experiment. The eight-part series followed 46 prisoners in Block H from February to April 2023, including 13 individuals who were charged with murder as well as drug dealers and spouse abusers.
In a daring attempt to test if they might rule themselves, Pulaski County jail in Arkansas’s Sheriff Eric Higgins opened the cell doors of a block. Local officials were taken aback by the series, as they were unaware of both the experiment and the show until they saw the Netflix trailer.
They assert that Higgins went rogue and inked an illegitimate contract that permitted “reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous” modifications to the jail’s operations to be publicly shown. Higgins declared the trial a success and intended to expand its implementation to four additional jail general population blocks.
The six-week trial was documented by a TV crew and hidden cameras and edited into Unlocked: A Jail Experiment now screening on Netflix.

Where Is Mason Mayham Abraham From Netflix’s Unlocked Today?
Mason Abraham, aka Mayham, could not help but be impressed by the experiment that Sheriff Eric Higgins presented. He identified as “crazy” and claimed to be a member of the group Young Vice Lord. He also claimed to adore chaos. He continued by saying that he was quite protective of his mother and daughter, among other people he regarded as family. He had been accused of capital murder while he was on the show.
Mayham made it clear that he would face a life sentence or the death penalty if he chose to contest the case against him, neither of which looked like possibilities he was willing to entertain. His main motivation for doing this was that he did not want to be apart from his daughter. As a result, he was satisfied with trying to live as well as possible while in custody and, ideally, returning to his daughter. Naturally, he was overjoyed to experience whatever degree of independence the experiment appeared to offer.
Mayham did not get along with people who tried to impose their own laws and regulations because of this. His main point of contention was with individuals such as Randy “True Story” Randall, who believed that the younger prisoners were not considering the experiment seriously and could endanger their time outside of cells if they acted carelessly. While everyone in the unit shared the same hierarchy, Mayham believed that the older generation was attempting to assume a leadership position. This meant that he frequently got into arguments with people who were attempting to impose new regulations.
Mayham actually believed that people should be free to live their lives as they choose. As time went on, he appeared to understand that while some people were extreme in their behavior, there was no organization at all. Even though Mayham was annoyed by True Story’s attempts at taking charge, he had some respect for him because he always made sure that there was food for everyone.
As the experiment came to an end, he even publicly expressed his gratitude for the senior prisoners’ efforts to maintain order and make sure their newly acquired freedom was not compromised. Ultimately, his guiding principle was uncomplicated: pursue your interests while avoiding unethical behavior.
Mason, also known as Mayham, has been awaiting trial ever since his stint on the Netflix series. He is still being held on a capital murder charge and resides in the Pulaski County Detention Facility in Little Rock, Arkansas. It turns out that Mayham is under investigation for his involvement in the murder that happened at 1400 Leander Drive in Little Rock on October 18, 2022.
The victim, identified as Broderick Bluford, 32, was found with gunshot wounds and sent to a hospital, where he later died from his wounds.
Soon after, on October 24, 2022, Mayham, then 20 years old, was taken into custody in relation to the homicide. The same day, a guy by the name of Ferrod McCoy was also taken into custody as a suspect in the case. Mayham, who will be 22 on April 17, 2022, is currently unable to be bonded out. He will probably remain in the Pulaski County Detention Facility until his trial or sentencing is determined. He’ll probably stay with the H-Unit till then.
