“You grow up knowing everybody. There were truck and tractor pulls every weekend in the surrounding counties. I would go to them, and I just loved the loud diesel engines,” Lacey told Hook & Barrel. “My dad had a diesel work truck, and I loved it. I grew up going to Monster Jam as a kid and watching it on TV, and I just fell in love with trucks at a young age. I was always a mixture of girly girl and tomboy I was a cheerleader, but I also loved digging in the dirt with the boys.”
After high school, Lacey planned to be an entrepreneur and own a small business. Her school had a VoTech program and she became interested in diesel mechanics program. But, she went to beauty school and bought a salon by the age of 20.
She added, “When I started working and making money, I was able to buy my own truck and started customizing it. Instagram got me into custom trucks and that became my hobby. I also started buying properties in my hometown, and I got a good deal on a commercial building that had been an ambulance services building.”
But her boyfriend at the time worked on cars and they turned it into an automotive shop.
On Instagram, Lacey found and went to truck events and through networking at the shows, she started working booths for companies and selling t-shirts. Sadly, her salon burned down. So, she started working in the shop more to keep her minds off the salon.
“I found things I could do without being a mechanic, like spraying on bedliners and polishing metal wheels and toolboxes. Then I bought powder coating equipment and that was it. I found a way to work within my passion without having to have all of the mechanical knowledge,” Lacey shared about discovering a job as a mechanic.
Lacey’s devotion ultimately led her to launch LB Motorsports, her own car dealership and brand, which now occupies the majority of her time. In June 2024, she assisted with the setup of the LB Motorsports stall at the Atlantic City Truck Meet. Blair urged people present to see the Burnout Wars event as the vehicles struck the tarmac. The ex-gauge girl scorched tires in a hot pink pickup truck, but Zach’s customized truck with its supercharged V8 stole the show.
The Elevate MFG, LLC display was set up for the annual Scrapin The Coast automobile and truck show by the couple to round off the month. She competed in the Lone Star Throwdown 2024 as well, finishing in the top 100.
