Tina Grimm is the daughter of Denise Belanger and Ray Grimm. Tina’s parents supported her and acted as her rock during her hip dysplasia. Her parents, who never wavered in their faith in their daughter, were aware from an early age that she was a survivor, having overcome all obstacles to fully recover from her difficult illness.
Before his untimely death in 2013, Ray taught her a few survival techniques and introduced her to the marvels of the outer world. She makes it a point to surround herself with the beauty of a gorgeous location on the anniversary of her father’s death every year in order to honor his memory.
On his heavenly 76th birthday, Tina wished her dad, “Happy 76th birthday Dad. I couldn’t get somewhere epic this year, although I did set the bar pretty high the last few years…But, I kept the tradition alive by surrounding myself in the outdoors on your day to celebrate you. It was a nice 4-hour walk in the local mountains with you. I love you and miss you every day.”
Tina also struggles with the fact that her mother is having several health issues. Denise is currently battling stage 5 dementia. In actuality, Tina promised her cherished mother that she would stay with her for as long as possible in case something happened to her before being diagnosed with dementia.
Back in October 2021, on Denise’s 71st birthday, Tina shared that her mom fell in the basement and suffered a brain bleed. She added in the post, “I got a call from my aunt saying she was “off” on the phone. After speaking with her myself and noticing the same, I called the neighbor who went and found her on the floor bloody, bruised, and confused. She was taken to Akron City Hospital and has recently been transported to suma rehab.”
Likewise, in November 2018, Tina shared a heartbreaking post on Facebook that her mom suffered a massive seizure.
More about her family, Tina has a brother named Tony Grimm who was married to Amber Bauman. The bride graduated from Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage and Rittman High School in 2004. She worked for herself at Wooster’s Cheveaux’s. She trained horses as well. The groom attended Northeast Training Academy and Rittman High School, graduating in 2000. Tina also acted in the 2009 Cleveland Plain Dealer 30 Second Horror Film Contest-winning film, “Killerdate.com.” Her performance in the Cleveland 48 Hour Film Festival short film “Detour” earned her the Best Supporting Actress award in 2012.
Tina was chosen to play the female lead in the upcoming film “Joe’s War,” which also stars Ed Asner and Armand Assante, shortly after winning that prize. Even though Tina was going through a difficult relationship at the time, she made sure her child wasn’t harmed. She endured emotional and physical abuse while protecting her child. She overcame the obstacles and became a single mother, raising Kathryn with the highest love and care.
