The third season of Industry opens and closes with the main character, Robert Spearing portrayed by Harry Lawtey, experiencing periods of transcendental tranquility. The main subject of the show for a long time has been the young working-class banker at Pierpoint. At work, he gets treated unfairly and is frequently the object of a malicious game of will-they-or-won’t-they with Yasmin Kara-Hanani, the local heiress (Marisa Abela).

Harry Lawtey has shared that his parents were childhood sweethearts who met in Barton-upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire at the age of 12. They have been together since they were aged 17.
“My mom remembers seeing my dad in a production of My Fair Lady and thinking he was really cool,” Harry told Bustle.
The actor claims that they raised him in a working-class background. The actor shared that his parents bestowed upon him the “northern, working-class sensibility” and raised him in the small town of Barton-upon-Humber, near Hull.
“I always think of that as home, in the sense that my entire extended family, from both sides, live there, and I’ve spent every Christmas of my entire life there. But I’ve never actually lived there,” Harry shared.
Rather, Harry’s upbringing was centered around military installations in Oxfordshire and Cyprus, where his father served as an aircraft engineer.
His father was in the military: “Joined the RAF at 18, posted to Brize Norton, an aircraft engineer.” Lawtey’s father was sent to Cyprus a few days after the boy turned five.
The school was on the base. “A real mix”, Lawtey recalls of his classmates.
“Geordies, Northern Irish, Scottish, Welsh – a training ground for mastering British regional accents. My party trick as a kid was to do them like a jukebox for my brother’s mates. Our school,” Harry told The Guardian, “was basically a small British state comp – not a lot of funding or support for drama. But Mum tells me as a kid I’d always strut into the kitchen in some costume I’d rumbled together to do shows.”
But, Harry is not the only one from his family who appeared on Industry. “Towards the end of shooting, I managed to bag my Dad the crucial role of ‘mailman’ in the last episode. He’s always fancied himself as an actor. Coincidentally, that mailman scene turned out to be the last one I shot on the show. To have my dad there with me for my wrap was a special way to round off a special time in my life. I’m a lucky son,” Harry said of his dad making a brief appearance on the show.
Harry and his older brother George, who coached Swansea City’s first team, were football maniacs as children. However, his interest later shifted to acting.

I’m hugely grateful for it.”
