Angie Williams On Netflix’s The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge
The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge on Netflix features Angie Williams and nine other amateur bakers. A spin-off of the popular Netflix reality series, which sets overconfident home chefs against one another in amusing competitions to determine who can make the least-terrible concoction, aims to help its hapless bakers succeed.
Erin Jeanne McDowell, a baking specialist, and Robert Lucas, a cake artist, are added to the mix for the Big Nailed It Baking Challenge to provide the competitors with practical training. However, as we can see in the new series’ exclusive EW trailer, a pro can only do so much to assist the amateurs in creating a generous $100,000 prize.
Besides Angie Williams, the other contestants joining her are Travis Smith, Emily Adey, Andy Bisaha, Jean Silber, Ignoisco Miles, Frank Hu, Cura Johnson, Georgina Chiou, and Richard Sanchez. The 10 episodes of the bake-off premiered on 4 August 2023.
When Angie appeared in Nailed It‘s holiday special season in 2018 in an episode titled “It’s A Family A-Fail”, she shared at the time, “I’ve never made a Rice Krispy treat in my life. I don’t even like marshmallows.” She appeared on the show with her daughter Antoinette. The pair won their episode of the show walking away with a $10,000 prize.
She was pretty surprised since, in the beginning, she insisted that baking wasn’t for her, and the videos they submitted for their audition were “fail compilations.” Still, viewers loved the energy and enthusiasm Angie brought into the show and were delighted when ‘The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge’ announced her as a contestant.
Angie said at the time, “It really was the chance of a lifetime. To be on the show, to meet everyone there, to win at the end. I’m really just so glad I was on the episode where I could bring my daughter. It was so much fun.”
In 2023, Angie said that she’s a “new and improved glam-ma who’s ready to read and react.” Angie identified herself as a customer service supervisor on the show and said she was returning because she wouldn’t give up without a prize. Additionally, she picked up on the different approaches quickly, and the judges were pleasantly impressed by her skills.
Angie wanted to enhance the aesthetic of her cakes as much as possible, but she was frequently complimented on how good they tasted. Sadly, the judges chose to remove her from the competition when her efforts in the fifth show fell short.
