Ashley Gay’s Relationship With Her Mother
Ashley Gay is Heather’s oldest daughter, who graduated from Skyline High and headed off to her “dream school” — the University of California, Santa Barbara. The timid girl who “never left the bubble of Salt Lake City” was finally stepping out into the big world, and Heather rejoiced, “It feels like a big payday as a parent. I can’t wait for her to see all the options.”
Also, Heather was impressed by Ashley’s “conviction” to never going back to the “Mormon church” after she attends college.
Heather shared that she wanted Ashley to be “wild and to try everything and experience everything.” In her family, BYU was the only option. This was also the reason Heather encouraged Ashley to “go away to school and have all the adventures. (She never got to have)”
If you don’t know, Heather raised her three daughters to be “militantly Mormon — beautiful, blonde, and virgin Mormons.” Evermore after her 2015 divorce, she committed herself to be the perfect Mormon mom. But around 2018, her daughter started asking hard questions she couldn’t answers. And this was when Heather “forced herself to be honest.”
However, Ashley’s sisters, Georgia, and Annabelle were set on going back to church. “I want to go back now, but I feel like it’s too late,” Annabelle hesitated.
The last we saw Heather, she was trying to be more open towards her daughter about the sex talk. During her skiing trip with Meredith, Heather confessed because she was Mormon for so long, sex before marriage wasn’t even a possibility or a concern.
But now things have changed, Heather admitted that she would’ve been “horrified” if Ashley was considering sex before marriage. “And now I am horrified at the thought of her not having sex before she gets married,” Heather added.
Ashley Gay Family
Ashley Gay was born to parents, Billy and Heather Gay, whose marriage ended after 11 years in 2015. After the divorce, Heather took full custody of their kids, while Billy “completely” financially supported them .”Our co-parenting is: I do the work and he pays the bills,” Ashley explained.
The three ladies in the family were very close to each other. They hardly missed one another over any celebrations.
