“I am a marketing legend, a marketing icon, a marketing titan and also a ‘Housewife,’” Bozoma boasted. The reality TV rookie made light of the comparison between being a “Housewife” and a “marketing legend,” offering advice on how to approach the Cannes Lions in the same way.
“Now, if you want to Cannes like a ‘Housewife’ or a marketing legend — they’re actually one and the same — start with a glass of rosé,” She advised that when networking, a little alcohol might go a long way. “It will help smooth the day, and then have it intermittently throughout. It will also help with all of the conversations you need to have.”

Bozoma Saint John was married to Peter Saint John. Their path crossed in the cafeteria of the building they both worked in in New York. Bozoma agreed to be his bride exactly one year from the day he charmed her on their first date.
“I was ordering breakfast, and, admittedly, taking my time. He was impatient and also trying to figure out a way to get my attention. He yelled out from the back of the line, ‘You look like royalty, but you don’t own this place. Hurry up and order!’ Well…he succeeded in getting my attention and royally pissing me off. So it didn’t help his cause when he tried to ask me out for consecutive days after that,” Bozoma shared in 2019.
Peter and Bozoma stayed together for ten years before Peter received a cancer diagnosis in May 2013. Peter was given the diagnosis and underwent “months” of chemotherapy before being informed that he only “had a few weeks to live,” according to Joy Online.
Later, in December 2013, Peter passed away.
Peter was born to George and Joyce Saint John, in Worcester, Massachusetts as the youngest of six siblings. When Peter went to work on an Alaskan fishing vessel, he set out on an adventure of a lifetime. As a skipper, Peter led by example, maintaining his crew’s safety in one of the riskiest and most demanding positions while sporting his signature mohawk.
After his return to Massachusetts, he started a career in print production.

Bozoma Saint John is the mother of a single kid, Lael, who turned 15 in June 2024. She was welcomed into the world alongside her late husband, Peter. Bozoma had been expecting a daughter before meeting Lael, but at six and a half months, she developed preeclampsia and gave birth to her kid too soon. The marketing exec spoke about her experience of needing to have an induction to deliver her stillborn baby, whom she and Peter called Eve, in her book The Urgent Life: My Story of Love, Loss, and Survival.
“Years later, Peter looked at me from his own hospital bed and told me not to worry. ‘I’ll go to heaven and take care of Eve, while you stay here and take care of Lael,'” Bozoma reflected in her memoir.
