Who Are Carter Redwood Parents?
Carter Redwood was born to his parents, Carl and Tawnya Redwood. They are his inspiration and someone who always supported his passion for acting.
Also, it was only through their support and encouragement that he was able to win the four-year scholarship at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama in 2010. Even there, he became the recipient of the university’s top senior acting award at the age of 21 and graduated with honors.
Thereafter, life was a smooth sail.

Carl Redwood looks up to his father Carter Redwood. He’s proud of him and even prouder of the fact that his father was once photographed by the legendary Teenie Harris.
Sadly, Carter’s parents (who he looked up to) have both passed away.
His father, Carl E. Redwood Sr. took his last breath on January 15, 2001.
As for his mother, Dolores Ardelia Redwood joined her loving husband on March 20, 2019, at the age of 104. She was the youngest of seven sisters raised in a family of eight in Homestead, PA. There, she went to school in that community and graduated from Homestead High School with high honors and even won a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh.

Amongst his achievements, Carl said that the creation of the Hill District Consensus Group topped it all. It was a consensus group that allowed people in the community to work together and plan a future that worked for them. Also, he recalls that he was active among the African liberation support committee, supporting the liberation movements in Angola, Mozambique, and Guinea-Bissau.
“I was also part of the Free South Africa Movement, where we worked to get Nelson Mandela out of jail,” he boasted.
As for his education, Carl is a University of Pittsburgh graduate.

Meet Tawnya Redwood, Carter Redwood Mother
Tawnya Redwood is Carter Redwood’s loving mother. He said that she was the “most supportive, loving, and warm-hearted person,” he ever knew. “She supports me in every endeavor I take on and she always keeps it real — even when I don’t want to hear it, lol. Without her, I would not be the man I am today. There aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am to have her as a mother,” he added.
Likewise, Tawnya’s very proud of him, and everything he’s become. She revealed that she was never surprised by his interest in the play as well. “As early as 7 or 8 years old, [he] was already warm, colorful, filled with personality, and was artistic by nature,” she explained.
