As the first-ever star of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan, a 61-year-old Rockville, Maryland, private school administrator, is creating history. She first became acquainted with Gerry Turner during his Golden Bachelor season, and they grew close during that time. But she had to leave the concert early to take care of an urgent matter in her family.
Joan, who lost her husband of 32 years, John, to pancreatic cancer in 2021, seemed to be a perfect fit for Charles “Chock”.
Joan is now prepared to go on with her search for love in season one of The Golden Bachelorette.

Reality Steve disclosed on X that Joan gave Chock a date in her hometown. On July 14, Joan and Chock visited his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. Joan’s first one-on-one date at Disneyland was given to a man named Chock, who was previously identified. As Steve previously mentioned Chock is sixty years old. After their divorce, he and his ex-wife had children. Chock’s past includes a melancholy aspect: he was engaged to another person for a few years until her untimely death from brain cancer last year.
Reality Steve revealed on the Daily Roundup podcast that he has no idea how many hometown dates Joan would go on or whether Chock’s was her first. Gerry only had three hometown dates on The Golden Bachelor, as opposed to the customary four.
The hometown dates for the Golden Bachelorette are going to be interesting because Joan will be meeting her contenders’ grandchildren and kids instead of their parents.

Charles Chock Chappell was previously married to his ex-wife Heather Chapple. It is not clear when they married but they were together at least until 2013. The exes shared two children a son named Tyler and Taylor Chappell.
