Charly Barby was a fan favorite on America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders which premiered on Netflix in June 2024. Sadly, Charly was sent home to hone her cheering techniques after failing to cut.
“I met the most incredible, kind and genuine group of people and grew so incredibly close in such a short time,” she bid her farewell by writing a post on Instagram. “This organisation and the people that are a part of it are unlike any other. I have grown so much not only as a dancer, but as a person and it is all because of them.”
“The amount of hard work, determination and dedication it takes to chase this dream is unlike anything, and I absolutely thrive off of it. I could go on and on about how much I love I have for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders & how incredible this summer has been. The experience of a life time,” Charly added in the post.
“I’ll be back with you next year,” Charly assured.
In July 2024, DCC supporters are ecstatic to learn that Charly was chosen for the squad this season. On July 23, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders verified the news.
Charly celebrated the day stating that it was the “best day of her life.”
She added, “My literal dream come true!!!! I would not change a thing and honoured does not even describe how I feel! This organisation means the absolute world to me and to be able to call it home now means more than I’ll ever be able to say,” she wrote. “What a legacy to be a part of. I am SO. EXCITED.”
In conclusion of the post, she wrote, “This has been the most rewarding, life changing & amazing challenge I have ever put my all into.”
Charly began dancing when she started learning ballet as a kid. She kept competing in talent shows and competitions, and when she finished her degree, she told her family that she wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Her family gave her unwavering support, even though it was a big step, which made it possible for her to follow her passion and compete.
Charly’s intensive preparation began when she was one among the first 45 candidates chosen based only on her solo performance. She rehearsed all day and night, but she was concerned about criticism that she needed to be flawless. Before she made it to the final 36, she thought about and worried about getting cut for a long time.
Four days prior to the grand finale, Kelli Finglass took her aside, told her that she didn’t have the necessary level of perfection in her dancing form, and encouraged her to work on it more and come back next season. Charly was disappointed to hear this, but she took the criticism well and decided to try again the next year.

Charly Barby is the daughter of Heather Barby and George Barby. Born in 1966, Heather is 57 years old. George on the other hand turned 68 in December 2023.
