Marshall Glaze, after having split with fiancée Jackie Bonds not long after they left the pods, brought back a new girlfriend, Dr. Chay Barnes, on season four of the Netflix After the Altar. The marketing manager introduced Chay to costars Tiffany and Brett Brown in the series filmed earlier in 2023, while discussing plans to mark their first anniversary. “In July, Chay and I will have been together for a year officially,” he said. And, indeed they celebrated the occasion on 15 July 2023, s year after Marshall asked Chay to be his girlfriend.
Marshall literally could not stop talking about her. He said she is the “yin to my yang” and the complete opposite of him. That is why he said they “mesh” so well. Not stopping there and after more, he said what he had with Jackie is no compare to his bond with Chay.
Apparently, Chay is Marshall’s first serious girlfriend since filming Love Is Blind. Yet, he dated a few others. He opened up on the April reunion episode that he went on one date with fellow castmate Kacia Clark after filming.

Chay Barnes is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife. Impressively, she is also behind The Wellness Series organization that is dedicated to self-care.
Chay loves to talk about the journey that led her to where she is today. She usually starts talking from 2014 when she began taking prerequisite nursing classes (Anatomy & Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, Statistics, Psychology, etc.) at Seattle Pacific University. In the coming year, she applied to nursing school at SPU. That same year, she was put #3 on the waitlist and was not granted admission. So, in 2016, she reapplied and got accepted. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology that year. Then, in 2017, she while in nursing school, started working as a Nurse Tech at a local hospital on a surgical/ortho unit. This was not the unit she wanted to work as an NT on, but she gained a ton of great experience here.
In 2018, Chay graduated from nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. She took NCLEX – passed 75 questions, and got hired as a Labor and delivery nurse as a new grad. Another year, she worked as a L&D RN and cross-trained in the Neonatal ICU. She said she literally “floated” back and forth between the two units.
Between 2019 and 2020, Chay applied to the University of Washington’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. In 2020, she got accepted and started UW’s DNP, Nurse Midwifery program. Between 2021 and 2022, she worked as an L&D nurse while in the DNP program, and in 2023 finished the DNP program, passed the boards, and got a job.
