Christian Guardino’s parents—Beth and Nino Guardino are his greatest supporters.
Recently, he participated in American Idol, the place most people know him from. But, he had previously appeared on America’s Got Talent. He was a gold buzzer recipient. His mother spoke to Patch and shared his story of Christian, a boy who was born nearly blinded.
Christian told, “He started humming to those videos, and it was recognizable; he was humming ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.’ He was 5 months old.” His mother told the outlet, “He was always really interested in music.” Christian had to go through several vision adjustment gene therapy which helped him immensely.
Before auditioning for America’s Got Talent he had gone through Gene Therapy.
Beth told Patch, “When he was a baby I used to hold him, feed him. Other infants his age would stare at their moms, who’d smile back at them. We didn’t have that facial regard. I used to cry, thinking, ‘Is my child ever going to know my face? Be independent?’ It was heartbreaking.”
But, she believed in God who had his hand on him. She told, “It’s all about faith. I feel like God had a hand in his life from the very beginning I knew there was something really special about him, that he was meant to do something to inspire, make some light in this dark world. I feel like that’s why people have reacted so strongly.”
