With love, people called him “Roy.” He grew up in Iraq alongside his siblings Wadie, Wadia, Hamama, Antiwan, Suhama, Basim, Emad, Mona, Ikhlas, and Karim.
While young, Riyad loved playing so soccer. He even was a member of The Thieves of Baghdad team. Overall, he was known for his strong faith, generosity, and outgoing personality.
Crystal said her dad was “the greatest Baba of all time.” He was the man who always let her march to the beat of her drum despite the “shame some thought it brought upon [her] family.” The star emphasized that things as simple as a woman dressing sexy, moving out before marriage, and being outspoken didn’t sit well with many middle eastern families. Plus, add a failed engagement, “I’ve clearly never followed tradition and he’s never once made me feel bad about that,” she remarked.

Sadly, Riyad Denha passed away on January 27, 2022. Crystal was the first one to break the bad news via her IG. “He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. I love you, Dad,” she wrote.
Also, she took the time to mention that her father was her world, and he also “meant so much to so many people.” For instance, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need with zero hesitation, the comedian added.
Fast forward to Father’s day that year, Crystal took to her IG to wish her father in heaven and recall the moment she took her dad to the Playboy mansion in 2012. “We had a lovely lunch with a group of beautiful, sweet playmates & Hef. I hope this is what heaven is like for Big Roy, only up there he’s hanging out with Jesus too,” she said.
