She vied against 12 other women for a spot, which was filmed and shown throughout eight episodes. Besides Ashley, the other dancers were Jayla Sullivan, Sydney Bell, Charity Holloway, Arianna Davis, Asia Banks, Kiara Mooring, Moesha Perez, Isabel Jones, Jasmine Morrison, and Crystal Williams.

Dancer Ashley Williams On Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls
In the American reality television series Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, thirteen women vie to be dancers for singer Lizzo and one of them was Ashley Williams. On March 25, 2022, it made its Amazon Prime Video debut. The show received a second season renewal in April of 2023.
Ashley, a dancer from Inkster, Michigan, received training in ballet, Cecchetti, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and flag/majorette styles and has been dancing since she was 5 years old. At her HBCU, Livingstone College, she was a Campus Queen and Majorette. She also traveled as a backup dancer for gospel artist Kierra Sheard. Ashley’s hobbies outside of dancing include acting, creating YouTube videos, listening to music, traveling, and organizing social gatherings.
“Entering into the house I was very nervous. Especially being in environments where we don’t feel our most comfortable, we don’t feel accepted. We don’t feel like girls that look like me get chosen by the best guys, the best girls, you know – we get overlooked in so many places,” Ashely shared about her experience being on the show. “When I came into the house, I definitely felt a sense of sisterhood, a sense of, ‘Oh, we’re all alike!’ And also just speaking to them, and knowing what they’ve been through and what they haven’t been through. They were just so loving and so accepting, and it just felt good.”
Before the show, former Ashley said, “I was definitely lost in the sauce in this world.” She was aware of her potential but lacked direction on how to pursue it professionally; the Lizzo audition changed her mind.
Through her new-found fame, she is now thriving on social media as well as out of it. In July, Ashley shared that she was excited “to be a part of the panel of judges for this year’s auditions! Additionally, she also works as a math teacher at River Rouge High School. Before that, she worked at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and Taco Bell. She studied Mathematics at Livingstone College.
