RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 premiered on January 6, 2023, and for the first time in its franchise history, the show featured identical twin contestants — Spice and her sister Sugar. However, unlike other participants, these sisters were new to performing, but with sass no less than any other.
According to Spice, “a lot of creepy people” think of them as a couple because it’s “very rare that you see two identical twins walking around, and then in [their] case, it’s two identical gay twins.” But she doesn’t mind. “Growing up, you have a best friend by your side. Just having that rock on your side, going through the same thing as you [with coming out], it’s really helpful. We can talk about boys together, we can talk about all the gay struggles that you have to go through. Also, you get to trick people,” she added.
However, being paired with her sister has its drawbacks like losing individuality. She wants people to see her as her own person. It was also one of the reasons why she chose to drag.
Besides introducing the first identical twin ever, RuPaul’s Drag Race also upped cash prize this season i.e. $200 thousand. Also, the show’s now moved to MTV, making it the Emmy-winning show’s third home.

Spice is a fashion photographer who first stepped into the limelight thanks to the now-defunct social network Vine. Later, she and her sister then switched to Youtube uploading multiple videos including “ARRESTED & FIRED FROM OUR FIRST JOB?! | Storytime,” and before she knew it, she had gathered hundreds of thousands of followers.
Also, their “coming out to their mother” story trended on the platform garnering them even more fans from all around the world.
So, what got Spice into drag? Well, for her, the question is like opening Pandora’s box. “It was our escape,” she said before adding that at 6th grand she was transfixed and fascinated by Nene and Kim. Obsessed with the glamour and the photography thereafter, she started taking pictures of their dolls, and that is exactly what she does now too.

As for higher education, Spice got her Advance Regents Diploma from West Babylon Senior High School in 2016 and her fashion degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2020.

Drag Queen Spice’s real name is Luca Coyle.
Her drag name “Spice” comes from the line of the nearly 200-year-old English nursery rhyme “What Are Little Boys Made Of?” — What are little girls made of? / Sugar and spice / And everything nice.
Fun Fact: Spice changed her name to o Luca Coyle on all social media platforms in Dec 2018.
Drag Queen Spice Family
Spice comes from a family of six. Her parents Daniel and Glori Lucarello Coyle have always been supportive of her. So much so that, Glori even let her put makeup on her and surprise their dad.
Daniel and Glori turned 68 and 62 years of age in 2022.
As for her siblings, her twin brother Cooper Coyle (Sugar) starred beside her in RuPaul’s Drag Race. Another brother, Kerrigan Fox (who’s straight) is a Le Moyne College. And their one and only sister Katherine Coyle graduated from Hartwick College in May 2018.
