And much as we’re saddened by the news, her partner Emmet Flores — who allegedly never gave Gangsta enough respect — is devastated because he couldn’t show the love she deserved.

No, Emmet Flores was never and will never be Gangsta Boo’s husband. However, he was her boyfriend until the day she said.
Emmet and Gangsta Boo started their love story back in 2014. But since the two both cherished privacy, they never let the outside world know what was happing in their relationship.
But lucky, in 2022, fans were able to get an inside look after they appeared on WEtv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition — and it wasn’t all good. While on the show, the duo sat before Judge Lynn Toler in an attempt to work out their issues.
Judge Toler asked Gangsta Boo what she wanted from Emmet in the future. To which, Gangsta replied, “Put some respect on my name. I want him to respect me more.” Further explaining the matter, she said, “[I want him] to hear my voice as a Black woman. He always cut me off… He just thinks he knows it all, like when I’m talking he’s automatically thinking of a reply.”
Thereafter, the judge turned to Emmet to ask why he was there. Immediately, Emmet then stated that their issues stemmed from miscommunication and control problems. “When you say certain things to me, you emasculate me. I got a lot of insecurities about my manhood growing up without a dad,” he explained.
So, it’s clear that the two were going through some trouble. But not so much that they called it quits.
Gangsta Boo passed away on January 1, 2023, after a drug-related accident. Also, it seems that her brother, who was with her that night, overdosed sometime in the night and required hospitalization. While he ended up being okay, Gangsta couldn’t make it. Reportedly, witnesses at Gangsta Boo’s death scene insist narcotics were found on her and that a fentanyl-laced substance is believed to be at play.
To look back, Gangsta Boo is a Memphis, TN rapper who gained fame as a member of the popular Memphis-based rap crew Three 6 Mafia. Later, she left the group over money disputes and went on to build her solo career.

Emmet Flores never knew his biological family as a child. “I was born in 1977 and given up for adoption. I was a product of the foster care system and abused horribly,” he said.
