Gene Raymond Chrisley passed away from Cancer in Atlanta, Georgia on July 11, 2012 — two years before Chrisley Knows Best premiered on USA Network.
If you’ve been watching the show, Gene was often referred to with high regard by the family. For instance — in the inaugural season — Faye set up a dating profile for herself and after scrolling through several eligible bachelors, Faye said to Kyle, “None of them look like Poppa do they?” To which Kyle responded, “Poppa looked better than all of these people.”
The death of Gene has affected the whole family. Time and again, we stumble upon one or two throwback posts from the members. “Miss you bubba,” Chase wrote over IG in Feb 2020. Likewise, his sister Savannah took it to her IG in October admitting despite how excited she was for the launch of her clothing line, the moment felt bittersweet without him.
Savannah mentioned, her grandfather was her best friend as well.
Though Gene may be long gone, he is still kept alive in the memories of his loved ones. Savannah shared, “I thank God for the 15 years that He gave me with you because those were the BEST 15 years. We miss you, I wish you could be here.” Also, on the eight-year of Gene’s transcendence, Savannah wrote another emotional post: “I will never forget your smell … your laughs … your hugs … and all of our singing in the car! I miss you more than anything in this world … wish I could’ve had a few more years with you.”

Gene Raymond Chrisley was born on May 9, 1935. So, that made him 77 years of age at the time of his death in 2012.
His funeral was held at 11 am July 14, 2012, at the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. And the Entombment was followed at Heritage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military funeral honors.
As per his birthday, Gene was of the Taurus zodiac.
Gene Raymond Chrisley Net Worth
The Chrisley family is petty wealthy. Reportedly, they shave spent as much as $300,000 per year on clothes and lived in a massive 30,000-square-foot mansion. Also, fans are not unknown of their pictures next to expensive cars.
However, it seems that the money they were spending was allegedly swindled from bank loans by providing fraudulent information. In 2019, Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley were indicted on multiple counts of conspiracy to commit “bank fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax evasion.” To which, they pled not guilty.
So, it seems like Gene Raymond Chrisley wasn’t the one who left them their fortune. For all we know, Gene cloud has led a simple veteran life. His net worth wasn’t revealed as of 2021.
According to Todd, Gene joined the army while he was 16. “I am proud of his sacrifices and will never take them lightly,” he added.

Faye And Gene Chrisley Raymond’s Relationship
Gene Chrisley Raymond and Faye married in the ’60s. Although there was 9 years age gap between the two, they were soulmates through and through. Even after years of his death Gene, Faye still loved him and acknowledged that she wouldn’t find anyone who’d match up to him.
But Faye was trying her best to rekindle her romantic life. And this wasn’t sitting very well by her son. Todd shared, “I’m sure the guy that was there with my mom is a very nice gentleman. But, he’s not my dad. My mother has never dated anyone in her entire life other than my dad.”
Other than Todd, Gene and Faye shared two more kids — one of which died as an infant and the other is Randy Chrisley.
