The series was revived after the original show was scrapped after eight seasons on Lifetime. The original series, which followed the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Abby Lee Dance Company, debuted on Lifetime in 2011. The dance company was lead by Abby Lee Miller, an energetic owner of the business and coach of the competitive dance team. The show’s popularity also sparked debate because Abby’s dubious methods of discipline and instruction may be interpreted as verbal abuse directed at kids.
In the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, Abby made an attempt to bring the series back, but it was canceled because of racist accusations. It’s understandable that Abby’s attempt at a comeback was unsuccessful given the problems she has been involved in over the past ten years.
Gloria, however, has revealed that she is a distinct type of coach from Abby Lee Miller and serves as the driving force behind Studio Bleu’s Junior Elites Dance program. During an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed, “Abby was able to get amazing results by demanding the best with her booming voice and scary demeanor, while I often find I get results simply with a look.”
Let’s talk about Gloria “Glo” Hampton, a Northern Virginia native and award-winning dancer who majored in dance at Towson State University. After graduating from college, she studied with such luminaries as Joe Tremaine, Charles Kelly, Gus Giordano, and Frank Hatchett. She has danced for the World Expo in Australia, the talent-based TV program “Stuff” in the 1970s, Reebok shoe shows, and other commercials. Gloria started her own dancing studio in 1994, and it quickly became one of the best in the nation.
Fifteen years later, she sold that firm to collaborate with an expanding studio, which she again helped achieve national recognition for. Due to her skill in technique and exquisite artistic expression, Ms. Glo has received numerous accolades for her choreography and coaching, including the title of Best Dance Instructor in Loudoun County, Virginia.
Her most recent honor comes from the Star Dance Alliance, where she was crowned Teacher of the Year. Glo acknowledges the technical brilliance she offers to her training, noting that her alumni perform in the most famous companies across the globe, including American Ballet Theatre, Giordano Dance Chicago, Houston Ballet, Ballet West, Stuttgart Ballet, and Nashville Ballet.
The debut season of the show also features a mom-daughter duo namely Domenica and Isabella, Min and Mina, Corrine and Lily, Leslie and Leilah Bell, Lisa and Ashlan, Roxce and Bellatrix, Tammi and Audrina, and Jing and Gina.

Coach Gloria Hampton has one daughter named Kaeli Ware. Born on 9 June 2000 (24 years old), when Kaeli was welcomed to the Abby Lee Dance Company to join the “replacement” squad—which was formed after the elite team revolted against Abby—she made her television debut on Dance Moms during the third season.
After the replacement team broke up, Kaeli didn’t compete again until the next season in Abby-phobic, where she was paired with her home studio Studio Bleu.
