FBI director Christopher Wray is married to his wife Helen Wray. They met each other at Yale University while attending the institution in the class of 1989.
They reportedly tied the knots on 12 August 1989 at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip, where Rev. Peter J. Gorday performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. Hays H. Rockwell. As reported, Helen’s sister, Catherine, was her maid of honor.
Talking about her husband, Christopher was born on 17 December 1966 in Provincetown, Barnstable Co., MA to his parents Thomas Cecil Wray and Gilda Gates. He was appointed FBI director in August 2017, becoming the eighth director to lead the federal agency.
Christopher was born in New York City and received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1989. He graduated from Yale Law School in 1992 and worked as a law clerk for Judge J Michael Luttig of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Moreover, he spent 17 years as an assistant US attorney for the Northern District of Georgia at the multinational legal firm King & Spalding. He later worked on a variety of federal criminal prosecutions, including public corruption, gun trafficking, and narcotics charges.
In August 2022, the FBI raided the Mar-a-Lago, Florida, home of former president Donald Trump. And it comes as a surprise but Trump was the one who hired Christopher in that position. According to Politico, Trump announced his choice on Twitter in July 2017 and nominated Wray to be the next director of the government agency.
“I am proud to announce Christopher as my choice as the director of the FBI,” Trump said in a White House statement. “He is an impeccably qualified individual and I know he will again serve his country as a fierce guardian of the law and model of integrity once the Senate confirms him to lead the FBI.”
