Ikechi has worked in the field of education for a long time. He started his career as an educator at Houston ISD, where he worked from 2007 to 2016, according to his LinkedIn profile. Then, beginning in 2020, he served as an academic advisor for two years before going on to the University of Houston to serve in a similar capacity.
