Meet the family of Jennifer Tilly, who is joining the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a “friend”. Bravo started filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Season 14, in May 2024. Many of the devoted viewers of the long-running program are eager to see another season of explosive meals and to learn about all the off-season drama that has been bothering the program.

Meet Jennifer Tilly Family
Jennifer Tilly is an American-Canadian actress and a professional poker player. She was born to her parents Harry Chan and Pat Tilly. She has three siblings and three step-siblings.
Jennifer enrolled in St. Stephen’s College in Missouri at the age of 17 to study theater. She wrote for periodicals, earned money from Honorable Mentions in writing contests, and used her earnings to help pay for her tuition. After making appearances on television shows like Cheers and Remington Steele, as well as having small roles in movies like Remote Control, He’s My Girl, Inside Out, He’s My Girl, and Rented Lips, Jennifer was eventually acknowledged for her performance as singer Blanche “Monica” Moran during her audition for The Fabulous Baker Boys in 1989.
Her performance in the stage production of One Shoe Off earned her the 1993 Stage World Award, and a year later, she delighted as Olive Neal in Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway. In Made in America, she portrayed a bisexual girlfriend in the sensual movie Bound. She also starred alongside Jim Carrey in the films Liar Liar and Relax… It’s Just Sex and Hoods. The Bride of Chucky, in which Jennifer played Chucky’s murderous doll’s wife, came out after these films.
Jennifer Tilly Parents
Jennifer Tilly’s parents are named Harry Chan and Pat Tilly. Her father had “a poker problem, I’ll put that in quotes.” He introduced her to a poker video game, starting what would become an abiding obsession.
Reflecting on her time as a child, Jennifer shared, “When I was a kid we weren´t allowed to see anything that had violence in it. My parents were hippies and therefore we only watched Shakespeare movies which were actually pretty bloody. When I grew up I had a boyfriend who liked the godfather movies and was playing them constantly. They are very violent and I was realising that I was missing a lot by totally avoiding violent movies.”
Jennifer grew up as a family entertainer. The reason for that, “I think it´s because we didn´t have television and were a big family. We lived way out in the country – two miles away from the nearest group of houses and so we always came up with games. I would read about them in books and said: “We will play this new game now and these are the roles.” Or I wrote games and made everybody be in them. We also played fantasy games.”
She added further, “I remember my sister and me living in a chicken house for a week because we pretended to be peasant girls. The family house was the palace in which we had to work for the prince. I was surprised that our parents didn´t say: “Why are the girls living in the chicken house?” Well, we let our imagination run wild.”
Her parents divorced when Jennifer was only 6 years old.
On Father’s Day 2020, Jennifer posted a picture of her dad and wished him with a caption, “Remembering my dad on Father’s Day. 💗” Harry, a car salesman, passed away in 2004.
Their mother Patricia was a teacher. After her parents’s divorce, when Jennifer was sixteen, her stepdad Steph ran away from her mother, but Hazen, another violent boyfriend, quickly took his place. She claims that he was equally evil, frequently threatening to murder everyone with a butcher’s knife. Now, all three males are deceased.

Meg is 63 years old now. She was born in California and spent most of her childhood growing up in an impoverished farm house on Texada Island, off British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, where the family sometimes shot squirrels for dinner.
Meg when promoting her book Gemma shared, “And at least I had my brothers and sisters. But the sexual abuse is similar to what I endured. Her emotions are definitely mine.”
Becky, Jennifer’s another sister, also shared about her abusive relationship with her step-dad growing up. “I share the same memories,” she told People magazine. “Our mother’s boyfriend was fiendish. My stepfather was a horrific individual.”
However, their mother refused to talk about the book she has written. Meg shared of their mom, “I love my mom enormously. I don’t think she ever meant to mess up. She’s done many wonderful things and we wouldn’t be nearly as creative as we are if it weren’t for her.”
“I do help her out financially,” she goes on, almost apologetically. “And I write to her. But I needed to tell the truth about my life. She has her reality and her truth, and it’s just as valid. But I can’t live in her reality any more. It doesn’t mean I don’t love and respect her, I just can’t do that any more.”
The three sisters have a brother named Steven Tilly.
Jennifer Tilly Children
Jennifer Tilly doesn’t have any children. She previously married Simpsons producer Sam Simon from 1984 to 1991. In the 2010s, Jennifer also dated Phil Laak, a professional poker player known as the “Unabomber” because he tends to wear a hoodie and sunglasses when he plays.
