Mayci Neeley On The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives

Mayci Neeley is one of the more impartial participants in #MomTok on The Hidden Lives of Mormon Wives. She also demonstrates on her TikTok account that she is not into drama but will participate if the opportunity arises. Mayci has defended her choice to appear on the Hulu show amid clips of her with her husband, two children, and friends after the Mormon community criticized her decision.

All eight episodes of the reality series that follows the lives of eight LDS mom influencers are currently available for streaming, giving the Utah-based TikTokers access to a far wider audience.

According to the series, #MomTok is a term used to describe a group of Mormon (members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints) influencers who are usually situated in Utah and who post parenting advice and sponsorships on TikTok about being a contemporary, religious mother. A loose group of well-known young Mormon influencers goes by the moniker “MomTok,” and they are all known for posting TikTok videos of themselves dancing, lip-syncing, and acting in ways that you wouldn’t often associate with religious women.

In May 2022, TikTok star Taylor Frankie Paul, a married mother of two, revealed in a livestream that she and her husband Tate Paul had decided to file for divorce following their “soft swinging” with other Mormon couples in their social group in the Salt Lake City area. She followed up with a livestream five days later, during which she claimed that she had been “soft swinging,” or that she and her pals had switched partners while in the same room, along with a few other MomTok couples.

The controversy and its fallout have now been chronicled for a brand-new series now known as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The show follows eight women as they deal with the fallout from the viral swinging controversy that extended beyond the “For You” page: Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Taylor Frankie Paul, and Whitney Leavitt are the other ladies featured on the show.

“We’re excited to show that you don’t have to be in a box. You can still be sexy and be Mormon You don’t have to look a certain way. You can do what makes you feel best,” said Mayci to ABC30 about her experience being in #MomTok. Mayci had this to say about the scandal. “None of us are perfect. Even people who are Mormon aren’t perfect, and I think you see more of it now because back then, we didn’t really have social media, so that’s why it seems more prominent now than it did back then.”

Drama on TikTok led to a call from a reality show. Viewers can now see into the private lives that lie behind phone screens. “On social media, you’re giving people a very very small glimpse of your life. They’re seeing maybe like 10%, whereas now doing this reality show we’re able to show how we really are in real life,” Mayci explained.

Mayci Neeley Baby Daddy

Mayci Neeley’s baby daddy was Arik Mack. They were both 19 when in February 2015 they discovered that they were going to have a baby. Mayci described her baby-daddy as “a wild guy – energetic, funny and so full of life. And definitely not ready to settle down into a life of nappies and nursery drop-offs.”

Then, Mayci told Arik about her pregnancy, and Arik while holding her hand said, “Well, I wanted to marry you before we had kids, but I guess it’s happening this way. We’ll figure it out, don’t worry.”

At the time, Mayci’s parents wished for her to move back home in California but Arik was not very supportive of their decision. Arik and Mayci got into a fight on March 24, 2015. They began arguing over texts because they were under too much strain. She had no idea that Arik was texting me while he was driving. She stopped responding to his texts out of frustration.

Later in the day, she was looking through Instagram when she saw a photo of Arik. She scrolled on without giving it any thought. Then, she came onto another photo of him that a friend had sent, along with the words, “I’ll miss you, Arik.” Soon, the posts started to pour in. “Arik, RIP”… “Too soon gone.”

Mayci discovered that Arik had a terrible car accident with Arik’s dad who told her, “Arik has passed away. He was texting while driving and crashed his car. He was killed on impact.”

Talking about that incident, Mayci shared, “I was utterly destroyed. I had no idea that he was driving – I never would have replied to him if I knew. Arik was my best friend and suddenly, he was gone. I couldn’t get my head around the fact that I’d never hear his cheeky laugh again. My baby would never be held by their father. It was too much to bear.”

Mayci fell into depression but was only lifted out of it after she welcomed their boy Hudson on 21 September 2015.

After that, Mayci met a guy named Jacob through a friend. They were just friends for a while, and since they weren’t dating, she was fine with him getting to know her son. With him, Jacob was fantastic, which added to his attractiveness. Even though she was scared of being harmed again, she was unable to suppress her emotions after four months. Kind and witty, Jacob gave her a sense of security.

One day he arranged for the couple to have a couple’s photoshoot. Jacob insisted Hudson join them Halfway through the shoot the photographer said, “Let’s get some shots of the three of you reading this book.”

With a ton of adorable photos from our time together, Jacob had created a book detailing how they met and fell in love. “Now it’s time for your happily ever after… Will you marry me?” The couple tied the knot on 8 June 2018. They welcomed their daughter Harlow on 11 February 2021.

They had to use IVF because they had trouble becoming pregnant, so it wasn’t an easy journey. To her hundreds of millions of TikTok fans, Mayci shared an online account of her IVF experience.
