Meet House of the Dragon Actress Sian Brooke Husband, Bill Buckhurst
Actress Sian Brooke and her husband Bill Buckhurst’s paths crossed when she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company to play the role of Juliet. The actress was likely leading a single life before she met her husband although she had dated a few times before that. In an interview, she called him “Mr. Right”. The couple tied the knots in 2010. There aren’t many intricate details regarding the couple’s wedding.
Aside from starting a beautiful family together, the married couple has also collaborated on several projects. She starred in the film Pond Life directed by Bill. Sian talked about working with her husband in an interview she gave in September 2017. She said, “It was the first time we’d worked together and really enjoyed it. Hopefully, he’ll cast me again if we don’t fall out.”
They now share two boys; Ben who is 8 years old, and 6-year-old Archie. Because of her work schedule, she claimed to have become a virtual mother. She added, “Wherever I am, I sit down with them while they’re having breakfast. So you have this bizarre family. It’s like being a ‘virtual mother’.”
Despite going full throttle for her career, Sian maintains that her kids top the list of her priorities. She echoes, “There’s always this guilt trip of trying to be a mum when you’re away working. But I’m also lucky to spend long periods of time with them when I’m not. They are my main priority. Every job choice I make, everything I do and think revolves around them.”
Speaking more about her family life with Express.co.uk, she added, “My life at home is mayhem. My kids are beautifully bonkers. So boisterous and full of life. And I’m just normal like other parents trying to keep it all together, at the park with the boys and our dog Monty, a grumpy old Westie. I’m very lucky. I met Mr. Right at 24, I have my lovely family and my work. It’s a time I treasure.”
In September 2018, Evening Standard Sian to her and she opened up about her role in the house, her husband, and her kids. She said, “He’s brilliant — we share everything. You just have to make it work, by hook or by crook,” she says. “But I still feel it’s looked upon that as a woman it’s your responsibility. It’s infuriating. We’re meant to be superwomen, with these great jobs, but we’re also meant to do what did before.”
The youngest of three siblings, Sian Phillips was born in 1980 in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. Her parents are a teacher and police officers. In the entertainment world, she goes under the name Sian Brooke since she wanted to prevent any mistake with the seasoned Welsh actress Sian Phillips. Sian joined the Lichfield Youth Theatre at the age of 11, and she later joined the National Youth Theatre. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she received additional instruction to hone her acting abilities, she also graduated in 2002.
