Kyle Jarred “Flip” Filipowski as we all know is an American college basketball player for the Duke Blue Devils of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Recently (on 16 March 2023) during the Blue Devils NCAA Tournament opener against Oral Roberts, he was seen leaving the floor in the first half with stomach issues. Yet, he came back into the game and finished the first half with two points. This scene was not the first time he lost his lunch at a game. But, unfortunately at one point, she ended up having knee injuries and had to have career-ending surgeries. Even so, the 6-foot-4 matriarch never stopped associating herself with the sport. Since then, she worked as an athletic trainer, coach, PE, and health teacher while raising four boys.
Kyle, her son, also remembers her as his first coach. He recalled her being so tough on him and of course being also “very present”. She would drive Kyle and his twin brother Matt to and from games and remain on overnight trips as a team chaperone.
