Meet Michele Jones, WACO Survivor David Thibodeau Wife
Michele Jones was WACO Survivor David Thibodeau’s spiritual wife. She married him after Koresh asked them to tie the knot in the camp.
According to David, he met Koresh, thanks to their mutual interest in music in 1991. At the time, he had just graduated from Los Angeles’ Musicians Institute of Technology with a drumming major. Then, one day Koresh invited him to come to stay in the camp with the community and marry Michele, and he obliged.
So, after the siege, David started vocalizing his experiences both within the camp and at the time of the siege. He even wrote two books titled “Waco: A Survivor’s Story” and “A Place Called Waco,” the latter of which led him to be a consultant for the series Waco: American Apocalypse.
“I always knew there was some kind of an unseen force that seemed to direct me through life,” David said in the documentary. No wonder, he was intrigued when the sect head said to him, “You don’t even realize how every day there are forces carving out your path and where you’re going to be.”
But David initially wasn’t interested in the entire new religious movement spiel. He didn’t believe their leader was the Messiah. It was only because of amicable, warm people like Steve, he joined their Christian band.
Nevertheless, he was in the Waco, Texas, compound until the very end! He only ran after the massive fire broke out on April 19, 1993 (day 51 of the bitter stand-off).
Today, David has been powerfully voicing his perspective on this siege. He also ran a website called Waco Survivors, wherein he archived media posts related to the stand-off while offering his open opinions to paint a clearer picture of the whole thing.

As for her sister, Rachel Olivia Susan Koresh, you might know all about her for she’s featured on Waco: American Apocalypse.
For those who don’t know, Rachel was one of the people who perished in the Waco siege fire. She was the only legal wife of leader David Koresh and was 23 when the siege occurred.
The show mentioned that Rachel was 14 when she got married to Koresh. Then, she bore his two children named Star and Cyrus. Obviously, she wasn’t okay with her husband sleeping with other women in the compound. But since Koresh taught his parishioners that he was destined to father 24 children who would eventually become the rulers of the world after the apocalypse, Rachel made peace with herself.
Another reason why Rachel was calm with what was happening was that she was born into the church and that was all she had ever known.
Sadly, like Michele, her sister and both of her kids were killed in the fire and buried in Restland Cemetery, in McLennan County.
