Before meeting Chidi, Rayne had never been lucky in love and was looking for intimacy and physical affection until she met Chidi, but online of course. For five years, Rayne, a New Mexico lady, and Chidi, a Nigerian man, have maintained an internet romance. Rayne texted him hot selfies when their relationship first started to get amorous. But the lack of his response is which is how she found out Chidi was blind.
That fact also caused some gossips on Reddit about their relationship. One Redditor wrote, “Imagine someone using the blind excuse to not respond to your nudes 😂 (but obviously he’s actually blind).” Another added, “But he must be legally blind, not completely blind. Otherwise, why would he be wearing glasses? …. which means he can sort of see her at least. Sorry, Rayne.”
Rayne’s family and relatives are concerned that she isn’t ready to date a blind person as she never had any prior experience with that. There may be difficulties for this couple, but it appears that Rayne’s esoteric view of religion and Chidi’s strong Christian beliefs will be the main sources of contention.
But, Rayne believes that they are meant to be together. She hopes that Chidi will agree to go to the United States so that they can begin their lives together formally.

In a preview for season 7, every pair is seen overcoming obstacles of their own, such as homelessness, celibacy, cultural differences, and an ex who appears to be still involved.
