While in the police force, Scott was already subjected to hate of local activists Emily Davis and Keith Rose, who shared a series of tweets from an account bearing the officer’s name. The tweet discussed a video that went viral in 2015. It showed a McKinney, Texas, police officer chasing teens at a pool party, wrestling a bikini-clad teenage girl to the ground, pointing a gun toward two boys, and performing a barrel roll.

The officer in the video, Eric Casebolt, resigned immediately after the incident. White House officials called his actions “detrimental” to police-community relations.

Scott and other related didn’t see it the same way, based on the tweets. “Police tell you to comply, you comply!” said one. “This is typical for people not to listen to the police.”

Moreover, the account with Scott’s name also contained transphobic comments. A tweet wrote, “your whole family is sickening and I can’t believe he won that award, referring to Jenner’s Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYS last year. The tweet mispronounced Caitlyn Jenner as he even though Jenner identified as a female.

But, the account has been deleted ever since along with the tweets.

A Twitter user @DOJSuedFerguson wrote in October 2016, “Scott Wooldridge will fit right in with the many Ferguson racists.” 

City spokesman Jeff Small wrote, “Although he was not an officer at the time, the concerns raised by the revelation of the account are now a personnel matter. Because it is a personnel matter, the departmental inquiry cannot be discussed as a matter of law.”
