Who Are Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios Parents?
Reynaldo Palacios and Raquel Cornejo’s daughter Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua won the title of Miss Universe 2023 on Saturday in El Salvador, surpassing contestants from more than 80 nations to achieve the Central American nation’s maiden triumph in the international beauty pageant.
Born in May 2000, Sheynnis is 23 years old. She is a mass media graduate of Managua, Nicaragua’s Universidad Centroamericana. After winning Miss Teen Nicaragua in 2016 and Miss Universe Nicaragua seven years later, she qualified for this weekend’s Miss Universe pageant. After winning Miss World Nicaragua in 2020, Sheynnis participated in the rival contest Miss World in 2021. She finished Miss World in the top 40.
Sheynnis won the 2023 Miss Universe title in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, ahead of Anntonio Porsild of Thailand, with Moraya Wilson of Australia rounding out the podium. R’Bonney Gabriel, the 2022 Miss Universe winner from the United States, was there to bestow the $5 million “Force for Good” crown on her successor.
The five finalists were Miss Puerto Rico (Karla Guilfú), Miss Nicaragua (Sheynnis Palacios), Miss Thailand (Anntonia Porsild), Miss Australia (Moraya Wilson), and Miss Colombia (Camila Avella).
Designed by Mouawad, a jewelry company in Lebanon, the crown debuted at the competition the previous year and features 108.44 carats of sapphires and 48.12 carats of diamonds.

Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios’s mother is reportedly named Raquel Corenjo.
As of November 2023, Raquel is 42 years old. Hence, Raquel was only 19 when she had Sheynnis. In June 2023, Sheynnis made a post wishing her mom on her birthday.
“To my mother: Happy birthday, beautiful woman, admirable woman, my dear mother, I love you with all my heart, there is no distance that prevents us from showing you all the love we feel for you, thank you for giving me life, for loving me and taking care of me. Yesterday you went around the sun one more time, you have started a new chapter in the book of your life and I am sure that this chapter is full of blessings, abundance, love, happiness, and plenitude.” Sheynnis began the lengthy post.
The Miss Universe concluded, “Your story is exemplary and to be admired, I do not know a woman more hardworking, persevering, and full of faith than you, thank you for educating me with those same values and principles that today I work hard to provide to my brother. Today, tomorrow and always your family wishes you happiness, love, and many blessings. We love you!❤️ With lots of love, your little one, who loves and admires you. 👩👧👦🤍 This is a video that we made with a lot of love and affection to make our mother and her daughter feel close to her on that special day🩵.”
In September 2023, Sheynnis posted a precious moment between her and her mom and wrote, “I LOVE YOU MOM 🤍 A week after Miss Nicaragua in conjunction with the organization and Panorama Travel, we organized the surprise trip to visit my mother, it was a challenge to keep it a secret, but it was achieved 🥹🫶🏻 Her hugs are vitamin.”
Per the details available on Facebook, Raquel went to Colegio Pureza de María and UPOLI, Managua. She is now residing in Managua, Managua, Nicaragua.
Raquel’s own mother is named Silvia Cornejo. On Mother’s Day 2023, Raquel wished Silvia, “Today is a special day in Nicaragua, they celebrate Mother’s Day, thank you@silvia.cornejo4for being my mother and grandmother of my children, for taking care of us and giving us love. Happy Mother’s Day.”
It is also a special day for Raquel because Sheynnis was born on Mother’s Day in 2000.
