Simon Minty On Gogglebox
Gogglebox is a show that documents families and groups of friends around the UK who are filmed for their observations and reactions to the previous week’s television from their own homes. Previously, Linda McGarry, Carolyne Michael, and her two children Louis and Alex, and Marina Wingrove left the show earlier this year. So, there were three empty seats in the show to fill.
Disability consultant and presenter Simon Minty along with his sister Jane joined Gogglebox. He appeared on the show on 22 October 2021. Simon and his sister watched Strictly Coming Dancing, The Love Trap, and Killers of the Cosmos. While watching the show, the siblings had several random conversations that included making washing liquid gifts, eating too much, and finding a hedgehog in the house.
Fans or ‘Faithful’ of course commented on their presence. One wrote, “Simon and Jane are a brilliant addition to the show!!!” Another added, “Absolutely loving Simon and Jane on Gogglebox already. These two are gonna be brilliant.”

Simon Minty Disability
Talking about Simon Minty’s disability, he was born with SEDc which is a form of dwarfism. A person with this condition has a short height and has limited mobility. Besides people staring, the main difficulty he had was getting around so he had taxis to and from school and on day trips friends would push him around in a large buggy.
In an interview with RGAUK.ORG, Simon was asked what was the best and worst aspect of being small. Simon replied he was in his middle age so he was ok with it. He shared about going through some romantic and emotional issues that gave him tough times in the past.
Simon revealed as an ambassador, he had to be polite for some of the degrading comments youngsters made at him even if he doesn’t want to be.

Back in May 2017 interview, the interviewer asked him what would be have done differently if he was 21 again. He replied, “Phew, that’s a big question. I feel I had to do the things when I did to get to where I am now. I wonder if I’d stayed at the bank would I now be married with children, be mortgage-free, and living a different life?”
So we know that, even till 2017, he wasn’t married and didn’t have any kids.
But, back in 2014, a piece was written about Simon in The Guardian. In his curriculum vitae, he had stated that he was dating an American woman. But, as of this writing, his dating life seems obscure and he doesn’t seem to be dating anyone as of this writing.

Where Did Simon Minty Get His Education?
Talking about his education, Simon attended Epsom High School. After high school, he enrolled at North East Surrey College of Technology. He took evening classes at the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Later on, he also earned BSc in Philosophy & Sociology from City University and a postgraduate diploma in disability for Management at Work from the City University.
Note: Before Simon’s job as a consultant, he worked for Bentalls department store as a cashier when he was 15 years old. He also did babysitting for his neighbors.
