When Veah arrives in South Africa to meet Sunny for the first time, bringing her ex-boyfriend along, things don’t go well for the couple. “I’m so excited to meet my boyfriend Sunny,” Veah gushes. “But, Sunny doesn’t know that I brought my ex-boyfriend here with me.” She tells her ex-boyfriend to hide while she passes through the airport and walks up to Sunny, who is excited to see her. Things eventually come to a head when Sunny confronts Veah’s former partner over dinner.
“So do you think I’m f—ing happy to see you?” Sunny says and Veah’s ex replies, “I don’t f—ing care if you are or not! You’re some dude she met on the internet.”
The following scene shows Veah chasing Sunny as he leaves supper. Upon his declaration that Veah is “out of your f—ing mind” and his order for her to “stay away from me,” she tells him that he is the only person who can save her.
Though they both have feelings for each other and are hoping for a proposal while on this trip, Sunny is particularly uneasy about Veah’s continued friendship with her ex. They believe that when they finally meet in person, the fighting would stop, but Sunny is unaware that Veah, a nervous traveler, has made arrangements for her ex-boyfriend to go with her to South Africa in order to meet Sunny, saving Sunny from having to fly alone.

Eight new couples meet for the first time to see if their internet connections can lead to a romance in person in PEOPLE’s exclusive first look at season 7 of TLC’s popular reality series. The Americans will visit countries all over the world, including Brazil, Jordan, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, and Croatia, to have in-person meetings with their partners.
