HGTV Kristen Meehan has been married to her husband Ted Meehan for the past 14 years and more. On that day they tied the knot, they got to hang out with adults and pose like it was yesterday Kirsten said. She wrote this in a marriage anniversary post later on 18 January 2020. “Eleven years and going strong” she updated. And from this, we can take that they wedded in 2009.
Most recently, on his birthday, Kristen also took to her IG @kirstmeehan to gush that she is “the lucky lottery winner” as she won this “travel planner extraordinaire, State and National parks enthusiast, organics recycling extremist, butterfly garden conservationist, bicycle spandex wearer, and all around, great human.” Of course, these are all traits Kristen sees in one man, her husband.
Ted, like his wife, shares an excellent bond with his loved ones, even his in-laws: parents-in-law Joan Brinkman and Theodore “Ted” M Brinkman, sister-in-law Lindsey Uselding and her husband Nathaniel “Nate” Uselding, and their daughters Alivia Jade Uselding (on IG @alivia_uselding) and Braylin Uselding (on IG @braylinuselding_).
If you don’t already know, Ted’s wife and sister-in-law together are expert builders and restoration experts. Together, they are the stars of HGTV’s newest show. They are documented in the series as they take on emergency home restoration projects for homeowners in need.
The Uselding sisters have been really excited about their “nothing short of amazing” journey with the network. They have been ceaselessly talking about this for a while now. Apart from meeting new, talented people, helping families in need, and learning a million new things, this one was also more about launching their full brand Practical Home.

Ted Meehan’s mother is Mary Jane Meehan (Mary Jane Wilkinson Meehan). Edina, Minnesota-born Mary was based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when her husband Joseph, Rickard J. “Rick” passed away in August 2018 at the age of 78. After battling MDS, he was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Jeanne.
Joseph was also not Mary’s first husband. It was Ted’s biological dad and nothing was known about him including his name. On Joseph’s obituary, it’s also been written that he is survived by his daughter, Wendy Joseph (married to Craig Priebe), and stepchildren Patrick (married to Lauren) Meehan, Ann (Nick) Velander, and Ted (Kirsten) Meehan.
Further, Ted’s mom had a career as a realtor/relocation coordinator at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices North Properties before she retired. And long before that, she studied at the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1971.
