Ever since The Great Pottery first launched back in 2015, and it has always been a go-to show for participants who wanted to test their pottery skills. The format was similar to that of Bake-Off with only very modest adjustments, and the season 5 judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller, made the show even better.
Tom Demeranville was one of the twelve contestants ready to whack his apron and take on the challenge of The Great Pottery Throw Down. Joining him this season were contestants — Anna McGurn (57), AJ Simpson (21), Bill Thomas (63), Cellan (23), Christine Cherry (57), Jenny Cobb (43), Josh (27), Lucinda Lovesey (58), Miles Johnson (50), Nick Robatto (43), and Zahra Jabir (32).
All excited to be on the show, Tom wrote over his on Dec 24, 2021, “So if it’s not yet abundantly obvious, I’m going to be on the telly! It was either this or naked attraction, so count yourself lucky.” Also, a week later, his excitement reflected on FB as well. “Oh wow, it’s happening,” he wrote.
Furthermore, after watching the first episode, Tom shared that it “brought so many memories back to the front of (his) brain.” He was glad to see the pots, co-potters, and the fun they had.
Trivia: Tom and his co-star Nick Robatto were good friends. They met each other even after the filming ended.

We all know Tom Demeranville is a brilliant potter but he mentioned his full-time job to be the “product director” of a company called “ORCID — Connecting research and researchers.”
His job there was to investigate and develop links with other identifier systems as part of the EC-funded THOR project.
Reportedly, Tom joined ORCID back in June 2015 as a Technology Advocate and was promoted to product director on Jan 1, 2018.
Before that, he worked as a technical lead (ODIN Project) at the British Library in Camden, London for almost 2 years.
As for his longest career, it would be as a Senior Software Engineer at Eduserv Athens for 8 long years until 2013.
