Ilaura Reeves has been working with her husband, Drew Longley for over 10 years. And when she was finally featured on Gold Rush season 13 — all thanks to her father John Reeves — Ilaura didn’t leave Drew behind. Together, the duo helped the old man find gold in the dirt.
So, who is Drew Longley? Get to know Ilaura’s husband better as this article proceeds.
Meet Drew Longley, Gold Rush Star Ilaura Reeves Husband
Drew Longley and Ilaura Reeves have been digging dirt for a decade. Falling in love, thanks to their profession, the couple went on to tie the knot on November 18, 2017.
The husband-wife were also the stars of the youtube channel Gold Daughters. There, Ilaura followed Drew around at “The Boneyard Alaska” to uncover Ice Age fossils and gold mines. The reason they called the mining area to be “The Boneyard” was that the density of bones scattered in one small area was about half the size of a football field.
The Boneyard Alaska is located in a patented gold mine and all bones they found, they added to their private collection. Their family owned this property and was not interested in selling any of the bones.
“This site is purely a product of our family’s passion for finding Ice Age bones. For now, we are collecting them. The bones have not only a monetary value but scientific value that could help with understanding the extinction event of the Ice Age megafauna,” the two explained.
In the past 15 years, they’ve admittedly searched the area size of half a football field.
However, Ilaura is creative on Gold Daughters, works more on marketing, and spends time taking/editing/posting pictures and videos than actually going out to dig dirt.
Ilaura Reeves And Drew Longley Children
Drew Longley and Ilaura Reeves might have been married for 5 years, but they share no children. The duo might be collecting as much gold and bones as they can before they enter a new phase of life.
Drew Longley Age
Drew Longley was 34 years of age when he first appeared on Gold Rush in 2022.
He is 4 years older than his wife Ilaura.
Drew Longley Job
Drew Longley started his career as a baseball player at Sickles HS. There, as a senior, he batted .320 and posted a .992 fielding percentage, and even went on to win Golden Glove Awards for the years 2007 and 2006.
In 2008, he utilized “redshirt season”.
And the next year, Drew started in 11 games and played in 17 games with a record of .333 bats and 12 hits.
In 2010, Drew then played 25 games, starting 13 as a catcher. His record then was .204 bats in limited action with an impressive .397 on-base percentage.
In 2011, the athlete emerged as the Bull’s everyday catcher, starting at that position over 40 times. Playing a whopping 47 games, he batted .234 with four homers and three doubles while recording 20 RBI.
In 2012, his seasons with the Bull continued — appearing in 52 games in which he collected nine doubles and 19 RBIs. Then, he also finished the season second behind fellow senior Daniel Rockhold.
Thereafter, he’s been assigned to Toledo Mud Hens from Lakeland Flying Tigers on July 29, 2016, to Lakeland Flying Tigers from Toledo Mud Hens on August 4, 2016, Erie SeaWolves from Lakeland Flying Tigers on September 1, 2016, to Detroit Tigers on March 18, 2017, to West Michigan Whitecaps from Erie SeaWolves on April 1, 2017, to West Michigan Whitecaps from Erie SeaWolves on April 1, 2017, to Detroit Tigers on February 25, 2018, and to Erie SeaWolves from West Michigan Whitecaps on March 31, 2018.
Drew then retired and fully started working with his wife at Gold Daughters.
Gold Daughters was started by Drew’s wife and her sister, back in 2014 with just a small walk-up window where they would greet customers and sell tee shirts and, of course, cupcakes. And now the company is big enough to host several trips for clients interested to take a tour of an authentic gold mine museum and be a part of Alaska Gold Rush History.
“We want to make sure they have a good time so we do our best to make sure everyone feels unique and we give them an ear to tell about their trip,” Ilaura said.
They also assure that visitors will find gold and have a relaxing and welcoming time during their visit. Since panning can be a strenuous activity by squatting all day by a river, Gold Daughters also provide comforts, like benches, to make it as enjoyable as it can be.
