After the scandal, Urban Meyer’s wife Shelley Meyer spoke out on 8 October 2021 regarding the video at an Ohio bar. On Twitter, she thanked her followers for their support. But, she announced that it would be her last post on the platform because of the “hate, vitriol, slander, trash” that was directed toward her.
On Twitter, Shelley wrote, “We all make mistakes-we are all sinners. If you think you aren’t? Then cast the first stone.” The post has since been deleted. Urban’s daughter Gigi defended her father on her Instagram story. She said, “We’re moving on and life is good. We are blessed. I have the most incredible family in the entire world.”
