Zoé Simpson and Alex Barcello started dating each other in high school. On 28 May 2021, Zoé revealed on her Instagram that Alex asked her to be his girlfriend after school on 20 October 2016. Alex and Zoé have been falling for each other deeply in love ever since then.
Alex made his IG debut on 26 December 2017 which is the second post on Zoé’s IG. Meanwhile, Alex who has been on Instagram since 2016 but scarcely posts on the platform, debuted her on Valentine’s day 2021.
Zoé is frequently flaunting her man on her social media with lovey-dovey posts. On Valentine’s day 2021, she wrote on her IG, “Sometimes I just have to grab his face and stare at him because he’s just so damn cute 🥰 I love my forever Valentine❣️.” And yes, it can’t get much better than that for the couple’s love life.
However, Alex knew how to woo her lady, and on 20 May 2021, he got down on his knees and asked her to get married. Of course, Zoé couldn’t contain her happiness and announced the engagement on 27 May. His collegiate basketball career debuted in Arizona where he appeared in 21 games. He had a season-high 11 points in their victory over Long Beach State University. He opened his collegiate career with a strong three-game run of 7.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from the three-point range.
In his sophomore season, Alex played 30 out of 32 games. He earned a C.A.T.S. Academics Student-Athlete of the Month for February.
He once dealt with emotional turmoil in 2019. He called his mother at work and based on his voice, his mother realized that he was struggling a lot. In the ensuing month, his life changed as he found a purpose. Joining, BYU changed everything for the better for him.
Then, Alex transferred to BYU for the 2019-2020 season. In February 2021, he scored a career-high 29 and hit 7-of-7 three-pointers, a program record, in a 79-73 win against San Francisco Dons. Even his mother believes that Coach Pope fixed her son.
