Jenny Cobb Job
Reportedly, Jenny learned potting from her grandmother. She writes, “I was brought up ‘potting’ with my grandmother in the garden studio which my grandfather had built. Many happy hours were spent creating anything from clay animals to wheel-thrown bowls and it was here where my love for ceramics was born,” on her website.
Although the loss of her grandmother did cause Jenny to pause potting for many years, her love and passion for the art of potting were never lost.
A few pottery lessons with Joy Gibbs-Price was all that it took for Jenny to have her passion reignited. She says, “It was Joy who pointed out how much my work reflected the style and colors that my grandmother had used – something which I had not realized previously,” on jennifercobbceramics.com.
As of this writing, Jenny has her studio in her home in North Lincolnshire. At her studio, Jenny produces a range of decorative and functional stonewares. Besides the doughnut vases, she produces soap dispensers, teaspoon and teabag pots, mugs, and dishes with linocut birds pressed into them.
