Jessica Summerfield first met Forrest Galante when both of them were 15. Fond of each other, the two then both enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a year later. And after completing their degrees, the lovebirds then left to travel around the world, visiting 28 countries in 14 just months!
Finally, it was August 2015, when the duo decided that it was time to cross another line off their bucket list and tied the knot in Stocking Island, Bahamas. It was also the first place where Jessica and her husband had first traveled together.
Their wedding celebration lasted for 5 days.
Yes! after saying “I do”, the pair “trashed the dress” playing with Southern Stingrays, before snorkeling hand-in-hand through a sea cave. Furthermore, the duo also fed swimming pigs and went on for a spear-fishing for their dinner
“Our wedding day was a magical day filled with joy, laughter, tears, and an overwhelming sense of love. It was an incredibly special occasion surrounded by our closest friends and family in a beautiful, unique, tropical destination.” Jessica recalled.
Following their wedding, the newlyweds spent a month driving through Canada with plans to travel across South America, the following year for their honeymoon.
After 4 years, the couple then welcomed their first child named Rhodes on October 19, 2019.

Off-camera, Forrest continues to conduct field expeditions and surveys, working not just with believed-extinct animals but also with a wide range of other wildlife. Furthermore, he even spends several months each year coaching youth rugby. If you don’t know, he was a competitive rugby player during his school and collegiate days. But unfortunately, he suffered a severe back injury in Thailand that slowed his playing career.
Talking about his childhood, Forrest spent it mostly in Harare, Zimbabwe on his parent’s productive farm. But then in 2001, his world was turned upside down when terrible political turmoil in Zimbabwe caused their farm to be seized. So, forcefully evicted from their home, the Galante family returned to California with only $100 to their name. And Forrest started a new story.
