Dario Franchitti met his wife Eleanor Robb who was a mutual friend of Pippa Mann- an Indy car racer. Their relationship took a big step when they married in a private ceremony in early July 2015. The married couple got pregnant with her first child the same year and welcomed their first baby, Sofia. Sofia was born on November 2, 2015.
Then, the couple welcomed their second child Valentina in February 2019.
In an interview with BBC Radio Scotland in August 2016, Dario opened up about his second marriage. He shared, “I got remarried and my wife and I spend time here in Scotland and we spend time in London. I’m still involved with Indy Car racing, working with the Gunassi team, doing commentary for Formula E, and doing programs on classic cars for Goodwood TV. So it’s all these different things and then, somewhere in between that, getting to try and spend time with my wife and baby”.

Dario was previously married to American actress Ashley Judd. They reportedly met at actor Jason Priestley’s wedding and started dating each other in 1999. Eventually, they ended up tying the knots on 12 December 2001 at a Highland Town in Scotland after being engaged for two years. “We are great friends … [the divorce was] not an easy decision for both of us. She is great. She is a wonderful person. I am lucky we have managed to keep that great friendship and a very, very important person in my life,” he said.
