When Below Deck Sailing Yacht returned for Season 3 on 21 February 2022, Tom, here, had joined the ranks of Captain Glenn Shephard‘s crew as one of his two deckhands. After a brief stint, however, when the show came around again for midseason, he was nowhere to be seen. He was in fact fired by the captain, owing to his mistake during anchor watch. And in his place, Barnaby Birkbeck was brought in. So now, in this ‘Barnaby Birkbeck Bio’ we shall tell you all about the newcomer cast member.
Barnaby Birkbeck On Below Deck
Before Captain Glenn announced in the episode about Tom’s replacement as a deckhand, it was first rumored in a Reddit Group that Barnaby Birkbeck was going to be the replacement for Tom. And so it came out to be true too.
As for the star who has been let go, he amicably advised his substitute to do what he has been told and have fun. Yes. In a conversation with Sportskeeda, Tom passed on a message for Barnaby to listen to Glenn, Colin, and Gary, not backchat, and get his head down.
Anyway, as for his BIO on Bravo, Barnaby picked likely from a few others because of his passion for the outdoors and high standard of service. He is said to have ticked off all the requirements the exterior crew was looking for in a deckhand.
Like Barnaby, another newbie Scarlett Bentley also joined the show mid-season as part of the interior team alongside Ashley Marti and chief stew Daisy Kelliher.
Barnaby Birkbeck Career
Having worked as a celebrity watersports instructor in both the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, Barnaby Birkbeck is said to have seamlessly transitioned into the A-list world of yachting. And while this is what Bravo tells about him, there was entirely something else going on his LinkedIn. That is, over LinkedIn, he comes off as an experienced founder with a demonstrated history of highly successful products and companies, particularly in the e-commerce and automotive space.
On LinkedIn, Barnaby proudly introduced himself as an entrepreneur converting classic cars to ones with electric power. He launched this business called Electric Car Converts in January 2022. At the same time, he also continued to sell environmentally friendly toothbrushes on a monthly subscription model as the founder of Barnaby’s Brushes, one he created in November 2019. In May 2021, he also added Barnaby’s Tapcards to his list of self-owned companies.
Then, on Facebook, Barnaby also tells people that he has been a courier delivery driver at Amazon.com since March 2020 and the owner/founder of Spaghetti Straws as of October 2018.
It was in December 2016 that Barnaby started watersports instructing at Necker Island, Spanish Town, British Virgin Islands. And as of June 2014, he has also been allowing Basic Models Management to manage him as a model.
Barnaby’s expertise does not end here. He also goes around as a professional saxophonist.
Speaking of his education, Barnaby got his International Baccalaureate from the UWC South East Asia, a K–12 international school before pursuing Geography and Business Management at the University of Leeds.
