Drake Milligan had a passion for music and his parents Jim and Angela Milligan played a significant role from their part to make it happen. Jim and Angela tied the knots on 15 February 1991.
According to Fort Worth Weekly, Drake Milligan first developed a liking for music as a young child while listening to his father’s record collection. The Mansfield native would spend hours spinning legendary country songs like Merle Haggard and George Jones.
However, oddly, it was seeing an Elvis impersonator perform at a 1950s-themed burger joint when he was 7 that really set him on the path to his own music career, a career that is now officially off the ground with the release last week of his debut, self-titled EP. The plaintive pedal steel bends and lonesome lyrics certainly touched a place within him.
When he was 8 years old, Drake first heard about Elvis. He would read books and watch documentaries to learn everything there was to know about him. He played Elvis in the low-budget short film Nobody in 2014.
Drake moved from North Texas to Tennessee. Since moving there, he immersed himself in the Nashville songwriting scene, hearing the heroes who penned his favorite childhood tunes tell their tales. He decided to pursue his next hobby, becoming a self-taught songwriter. His connections gave him the chance to learn from industry titans like Dean Dillon (Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait), Bruce Bouton, and others (Garth Brooks, George Jones).

Meet AGT Drake Milligan Mother, Angela Clover Milligan
Drake Milligan’s mother Angel Clover Milligan is the daughter of Glen E. Clover and Sue Ginn Clover. Her father, Glen graduated from Chandler High School as valedictorian in 1956. Receiving an NROTC scholarship, he graduated from Harvard College in 1960. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy where he became a Naval Aviation Officer assigned to Patrol Squadron 26 in Brunswick, Maine.
For his contribution to the Cuban Missile Blockade in 1962, Glen was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. In 1964, Ed left the Navy and returned to his native Oklahoma, and entered the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Following graduation in 1967, Glen came to Houston with the law firm, Liddell, Austin, Dawson, and Sapp. While practicing law, Ed was licensed to practice in both Texas and Oklahoma. He was admitted to practice before The U.S. Supreme Court, The Circuit Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and The United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, and Western Districts of Texas.
Glen was a life-long member of the State Bar of Texas, the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Harris County Bar Association. Sadly, she lost her father on 17 May 2008 at the age of 70.
Angela has a brother named Kevin, and his wife, Alisa of Mission Viejo, California. On Mother’s Day 2021, Drake wished his mother, “Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful Momma. (Diazepam) Love you and our adventures!”
