R’Bonney Gabriel calls Texas her home state it’s where her parents built their lives and where she built her own career in the public eye. The path of pageantry that she pursued led her to Miss USA 2022, and she won. The honor of being crowned Miss USA in 2022 is a huge matter for her and her family.
R’Bonney’s family endured their share of hardship and inspired her to follow her dreams. In an interview with Houston Chronicle, she talked about her parents. She said, “My dad moved to America from the Philippines on a college scholarship with about $20 in his pocket. He wanted to pave a new life for himself. He met my mom in Texas, who is a country woman from Beaumont. I’m a very proud Filipina-American.”
R’Bonney Gabriel, who was reportedly born in March 1994, is the daughter of R’Bon and Dana Gabriel. Her parents owned a car repair shop while her father also holds a doctorate in Psychology. On July 2, she became the first Filipina American Miss Texas USA, making history. She stated that she thought it was an honor to serve as a spokesperson for the Filipino community.
“I hope this just shows any Filipino or Asian, or anybody that doesn’t see someone like themselves in pageantry or any industry, that that doesn’t mean there’s no room for them,” R’Bonney said. “You can always be the first person to do something.” She is currently working as a designer and model.

In her family, R’Bonney also has an older brother named Brett Gabriel. Born in February 1992, Brett is currently 30 years old. He completed his high school education at Lawrence E. Elkins High School. Later on, Brett attended the University of North Texas. He has worked for several organizations such as Carino’s Italian Grill, Pinoy Auto and Truck Clinic, Chicken Express, Rusty Taco Denton, and Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop.
