Finally, after a four-year hiatus, Are You The One? is back for its ninth installment and once again 22 contestants from around the world are coming together to find their compatible half. Amongst them, Anissa Aguilar seemed like someone who’d motivate and take care of her fellow contestants. After all, her admitted traits were “genuine, trustworthy, and loyal.”
Also, the star mentioned, “As cheesy as it may sound I have a heart of gold. I go out of my way to make you feel loved in every aspect.” And as seen in the promo, she indeed was consoling another contestant.
Recalling her time on the show, Anissa said “So many people from different backgrounds, beliefs, and mindsets on what love means to them, so it makes the season that much more interesting to watch.” She also believes that this is the best season ever and it’s going to be a “wild and fun season” to watch all different diversities from around the world looking for their perfect match.
And to be a part of this whole experience, she “truly feels so fortunate.”
“Not many people can say they went on a reality TV show to potentially find love, win money and work under a big streaming platform such as Paramount+/MTV,” she added.
However, being on the show wasn’t an easy task. The overall casting process for the show lasted several months, which included everything from phone and Zoom meetings with producers and executives.
For those whose memory needs a jog, every contestant on the show must go through extensive interviews and compatibility tests before filming. Thereafter, the show uses a special matchmaking algorithm tool to ensure all contestants have a “perfect match.” So, the goal is to figure out who they are destined for through a “truth booth.”

However, she did share that the villa allowed her to her open “eyes and heart” to what she “truly needed in a perfect match.” And that perfect match would be someone who is emotionally intelligent, family-oriented, spontaneous, makes me laugh, ambitious, driven, adventurous, and handles everything through good communication.
Overall, her boyfriend would be someone who inspires, values, chooses, and challenges her to be the best version of herself.

Anissa Aguilar Job
Anissa Aguilar was an “Instructional Mathematics Coach K-5” at Harmony Public Schools. She had been teaching mathematics for students ranging from kindergarten to the fifth grade at various elementary campuses for over 7 years before she took a break in May 2021 to participate in Are You The One?
After her time on the show, Anissa planned to resume her job as a teacher. “I love working in the education field and plan on continuing that path,” she said.
When Anissa wasn’t teaching, she spent her time as a Mental Health Awareness Advocate. She founded the 2112 project @2112.self the raise a voice for the cause.
As for her education, Anissa has a master’s in Educational Leadership with A’s in all 13 of her courses.

Anissa Aguilar comes from a family of six. Her parents are Alberto and Laura Aguilar and she has three brothers Alberto, Abraham, & Raul Aguila.
According to the star, she had her family’s full support when she appeared on Are You The One. “I honestly have the absolute best support team. My friends, family, and coworkers have been a blessing throughout this entire process. They’ve been cheering me on every step of the way,” she said.
Also, she confessed that when she received the final call that she made it onto the show, “reality sank in that the world was about to see me on global television.” But thanks to her family, she was reminded daily of who she was and what she had to offer. “It made this entire process that much easier knowing I have them in my corner,” she added.
Besides her parents and siblings, Anissa also was close to her cousin Veronica Aguilar and Erica Aguilar. Infact, Anissa and Veronica were so close, they claimed that they “have each other’s back through it all.”
Sadly, Anissa’s grandparents Raul and Natividad Aguilar have long passed away.
