Jacques Pienaar met Olivia Thirlby on the set of the 2012 film Dredd. The pair then soon began their romance, and fast forward to March 2014, Jacques put a ring on the actress.
“Life is quite something, isn’t it? A crazy roller coaster of emotions and decisions and everyone brings with it choices and the choices we make carve out the paths we take,” Jacques later shared the good news on IG.
The same year, on December 28, the lovebirds then tied the knot surrounded by friends and family.

As a boom operator (aka First Assistant Sound), Jacques works with the production sound mixer and utility sound technician in the sound department of film production. His principal responsibility is microphone placement, usually using a boom pole (or “fish pole”) with a microphone attached to the end (called a boom mic) with the aim being to hold the microphone as close to the actors or action as possible without allowing the microphone or boom pole to enter the camera’s frame.
