Shell Armogida On N*ked And Afraid
In the Naked and Afraid season opener Cole Wilks a hunter from Bertram, Texas, and Michelle Armogida a farmer from Mims, Florida, are battling it out to live 21 days in South Africa. Cole and Michelle are put to the ultimate test of human fortitude as the sun hammers down on the untamed landscapes of South Africa, in the wilderness of Colombia.
As Cole and Shell attempt to survive this once-in-a-lifetime experience, they battle the elements, dangerous wildlife, and, above all, hunger.
A crocodile is Cole’s aim as he performs a risky act of hand-fishing in a sneak peek that has viewers on the edge of their seats. This bold attempt sheds light on the complex dance between man and nature as well as the extraordinary extent to which these survivalists are willing to go in search of food.
Cole and Michelle take on the Naked and Afraid challenge, where they are deprived of all luxuries and left to fend for themselves in the bush. In addition to putting their physical endurance and survival skills to the test, the series explores the depths of psychological fortitude needed to survive for 21 days in a setting where most would give up.
Their voyage is a monument to the human spirit’s ability to persevere in the face of adversity, from obtaining food to negotiating the difficult moral terrain of survival.
Cole is heard saying in a season 17 film that it’s “freezing cold” around seven in the morning and that “sleeping is actually the suckiest part.” Shell acknowledges that the days are growing “colder and colder” by day nine of the challenge. Cole went on to say, “It’s like sandpaper to your a**, it doesn’t matter what you lay down on.”
Speaking to the camera, Michelle says, “Yesterday was rough.” I’m probably going to relax today,” she says just before she trips and falls.
By day ten, Cole and Shell were starving and out of crocodile meat. He was unsuccessful in his attempts to hunt geese, other small birds, and larger wildlife like bush pigs with his bow and arrow. He was too hungry to hunt effectively, and the chilly nights had kept him up at night.
Shell dug a hole next to the pond, using her passive fishing knowledge, and set a baited trap for catfish. Shell was able to bring back two little catfish to camp for much-needed nutrition after the trap worked. Cole insisted that she eat both of the fish even though she was cooking them over the fire. He gave up his own food in order to ensure that she could survive the entire 21-day Naked And Afraid experience since he was so worried about her weight loss.
Viewers were reminded around halfway through how risky Naked And Afraid can be for participants. Shell was so tired and starving that she collapsed at the camp. Strangely enough, she and Cole had just been discussing how to slow down that day in an attempt to preserve some of their quickly running out energy. Shell was seen falling down as she got up and moved out of the frame of the camera.
Shell tells Cole, “I passed out. I’m okay.”
Shell Armogida Husband
Shell Armogida’s husband is named Craig Armogida. They reportedly married in May 2021. They have been together at least since April 2017, according to social media posts.
On their most recent wedding anniversary in May 2023, Shell took to her IG and wrote, “Happy Anniversary to my life adventure mate, my hype man, my #1 supporter & fan. So blessed to be thriving in life with you, my love 💜🌹🙏🏽 here’s to many more years to come 💯🙌🏽💪🏾.”
Craig celebrated his birthday in August. On that occasion, Shell wrote, “HBD to my husband Craig!! 🥳🎉 He’s chief engineer, Mr Fix It & farm hand here on the farm and is such a hard selfless worker & partner! He puts his family first and I am so blessed he is in my life 🥰 He usually doesn’t want me taking pictures of him, but I was able to scrounge some that I’ve taken over the years, just for today 🤣🤪 Love you so much! Praying for many blessings for the years to come 💜🙏🏽🌺.”
More about Craig, he is working as a project engineer at Boeing. He is a graduate of Colorado Technical University.
The married couple only share fur children as they are yet to welcome their own.
