Aaron Bryant’s father is named Edward Bryant. Edward is the son of Thomas C Bryant and Erma J Bryant. Thomas Sr. was born on August 2, 1928, in Bethlehem, now known as Arkadelphia, Arkansas to John and Varlee Taylor-Bryant as second of seven children.
Erma Jean Anderson and Thomas fell in love, and on January 16, 1950, they got married. Eight children were born into this couple. His official schooling was received in Clark County, Arkansas. Elder Bryant joined the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Joan, Arkansas, at a young age after accepting Christ. He worked alongside Superintendent Jessie L. Williams for almost 10 years and served as District Evangelist of District 15, for one year. He was then installed as Pastor of Holy Ghost Temple Church of God In Christ in 1996.
He worked several positions with General Motors / Fisher Body, Lansing for 31 years, until his retirement.
Thomas’s wife Erma was the ninth and last born to William Anderson and Lillian Austin-Anderson in Gum Springs, Arkansas, in 1931. Erma Jean went on to graduate Valedictorian of her class at Peak High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Erma Jean also served as First Lady of Holy Ghost Temple Church of God in Christ, a church that Elder Bryant founded. She was faithful to her calling in evangelism and missionary work. Erma Jean served in many church auxiliaries and ministries; from teaching children, visiting home-bound elderly, and ministering to the incarcerated.
Before her death, Erma Jean was a member at Loving Fellowship Baptist Church, Desoto, Texas, where she faithfully attended Sunday school and church services.
Thomas and Erma’s children were Barbara Ann Bryant, Oliver Paul Bryant, Frances Mildred Bryant, Tom Thomas C. (Valerie) Bryant, Jr. of Duncanville, Texas, Ralph (Tina) Bryant of Lansing, David H. Bryant of Lansing, Ronald (Virginia) Bryant of Jackson, Tennessee, and Bennie (Shirley) Bryant of Phoenix, Arizona.
