Love Is Blind star Johnie Maraist is reportedly dating her new boyfriend Alex Yovanovic. Johnie launched her new relationship on Instagram after her ex Chris Fox admitted to cheating on her. Hours after the shocking revelation aired at the reality show’s Season 5 reunion, the lawyer flaunted her romance with Alex in a series of PDA-heavy pictures.
Johnie captioned the video collage, which had an instrumental rendition of Adele’s Someone Like You playing in the backdrop, “I’m doing just fine.” On Monday, Johnie commemorated the couple’s one-year relationship anniversary with additional images showcasing her passion with Yovanovic.
“hell was the journey but it brought me heaven 🩵,” she wrote in the caption. “Happy one year, Alex – thank you for showing me what true love is.”
In June 2023, Alex and Johnie went to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend their friend’s wedding. He also went to lawyer’s parties with Yovanovic in December 2022.
The former reality star initially disclosed that she had happily moved on after Chris admitted to being unfaithful during the Season 5 reunion. The Love Is Blind co-stars acknowledged that their relationship ended after Maraist learned that the project manager was covertly seeing someone else.
“That weekend was my birthday weekend and Chris had a wedding out of state, so he left the state and I didn’t see him,” she recalled. “And then the next week I didn’t see him, and then I found out the following weekend that Chris was seeing someone else. And yeah, I never saw him again.”
Chris said that he regretted not “being forthcoming” with Johnie.
“I didn’t handle the situation as someone would properly, but I did find someone who I now live with and I love and we’re very happy together. And I’m sorry if that hurts to hear. I know I was wrong,” he said. “I felt guilty and heartbroken and as many emotions as I could because I did fall in love with [her].”
Season 5 of the popular Netflix series featured a tumultuous relationship between the two.
Fans of the Netflix sensation observed Chris and Johnie connecting in the pods during the show’s early episodes. Johnie, who claimed Chris felt like the “safer” choice, ended things with Chris because she thought her bond with Izzy Zapata was stronger. Chris was devastated by their split, but it didn’t take long for Johnie to reach out to him again and seek a second chance after Izzy broke up with her to date Stacy Snyder.
Chris refused Johnie’s offer and kept his position, however, it was revealed in episode 7 that the two eventually renewed their romance and chose to go on dates outside of the pods.
Maraist turned 32 years old in May 2023. She is the daughter of Todd Maraist and Denise Maraist who has been married since 1985.
