Speaking about how she pursued a career working as a casting director, Angelique revealed, “That was a happy accident. I was in a gap year after college and had no intention of working in film, I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I read a job description in the newspaper [looking for] a horse-riding female in her 20s who could bareback. I assumed it was a job at a stable or a racetrack, and I knew if it had to do with horses, I was going to pursue the job opportunity.”
She added, “I got the part, and it introduced me to the world of filmmaking. I quickly learned acting was not for me. I found myself bonding with the casting directors more than with acting. One offered me a job as an assistant, and so I never pursued an acting career.”
Angelique works out of LA with Indigenous casting which is her primary job and also does lots of work in New Mexico doing location casting.

Meet Amber Midthunder Father, David Midthunder
David Midthunder and his daughter Amber Midthunder are both enrolled members of the Fort Peck Sioux tribe, and David spent much of his childhood on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana. He also wasn’t allowed to publicly discuss his Lakota traditions, fearing retribution, until 1978, when President Carter signed the American Indian Religious Freedom Act.
“I grew up learning to not talk about Lakota religion to people outside of the tribe,” he told The Post. “It was punishable by imprisonment or being put in a mental institution. For my generation, leaving the [reservation] was a scary thought at times. For my kids’ generation, it’s a lot better.”
By the time Amber was born, David’s career was well-established. “If I say yes to a project, it has to be one like HBO’s ‘Westworld’,” David said. “They really showed such a degree of wanting to treat us with accuracy.”

“Some people from a movie saw [and recruited] me,” he said. “It didn’t mean anything to me at the time other than helping pay for my living expenses while I was going to school. But all of a sudden I had an agent … and it started happening.”
